Skill Writing Standard — Fix Skills That Fire Inconsistently

A skeleton, a checker and an audit for your SKILL.md files: one job, no shared triggers, code for anything that must come out the same.
I build the operating system for a one-person business, then sell the parts that work for anyone. Day job in furniture sales. Nights and weekends: AI automation consulting through Praxis AI Solutions, plus a daily newsletter I've published every single day this year. Everything I list here came out of that — a real workflow I ran enough times to get sick of re-improvising, hardened into a skill. So my skills are opinionated on purpose. They tell you what's actually broken instead of what you want to hear, they refuse to grade without evidence, and they end with a decision rather than a summary. That's not a style choice. It's what I needed them to do when the only person checking my work was me. No dependencies, no API keys, no setup. Plain SKILL.md that works in any compatible agent.
