Session Zero Kit

Session zero is the twenty minutes that decides whether a campaign survives session three, and it is the first thing a busy group skips. This skill runs it anyway, in order, and leaves behind a charter the table can hold itself to.

Give it a premise and it walks six steps one question at a time: the campaign promise, the tone contract, safety tools, character ties, table logistics, and the written sheet. It asks, waits for the answer, and only then moves on, so the group actually agrees instead of nodding along. Safety tools are collected privately and summarised only where they affect play.

The output is campaigns/<slug>/session-zero.md: a three-sentence promise, an is/is-not tone contract, agreed lines and veils, one party tie and one world tie per character, and the practical answers about schedule, attendance, dice mode and language. The closing report names the parts that are still thin.

What separates this from asking a chatbot to "run a session zero" is the discipline. A chatbot will happily produce a paragraph of generic advice. This walks a fixed sequence, refuses to invent character backstory, and writes a file that the rest of the toolkit later reads as canon.

Honest limit: it does not build the campaign, and it will not rescue a table where one person has already decided everything. It produces the charter, then hands off to the Campaign Architect.
