The read
This could go to any VP of Sales at any company selling any product. Nothing in it says why you're writing to this person, today. "Boost your team's efficiency" and "leverage AI to unlock efficiency" are the kind of lines that get deleted before the second sentence.
One question before anything else
What actually happened that made you pick this VP, this week, instead of any other week? A funding round, a new sales hire, a competitor launch, a job posting for three more AEs? If you can't answer that, the email can't either — that's the real problem here, not the wording.
Say you tell me: they just posted five new SDR roles.
Lead with that, not with you:
"Saw you're hiring five SDRs — usually means pipeline's about to outrun what your current reps can chase down manually."
One line. It proves you looked, and it hands them a reason to keep reading that has nothing to do with your product yet.
Your move
Rewrite the opener using whatever's actually true about their situation right now, and send me the next line — the one where you say what you do. I'll tell you if it survives contact with a real inbox.
