Encounter Builder

An encounter that is only "kill everything in this room" is a chore, and one whose difficulty was eyeballed is a surprise nobody planned. This skill builds a scene with a goal, terrain that decides the fight, a budget that lands on the intended difficulty, and an outcome for every way the table resolves it.

Give it the party's level and size and it starts from the objective, not the stat blocks: delay, defend, steal, escape, negotiate or survive. It picks creatures to serve that objective, then computes adjusted experience — each creature's value times the count multiplier, then the party-size adjustment — and compares the total against the threshold for the intended band. Random encounters land easy to medium; a chapter set-piece lands hard. If the number misses the band, it changes the roster, not the label.

What separates this from a chatbot's fight idea is that the arithmetic is shown, not implied. Every encounter carries at least two terrain features that add or remove a real option, and an alternate resolution with a stated check, requirement and cost. Treasure is set from the reward tables so the loot matches the threat.

Honest limit: it needs the party's level and size before it will compute anything, and it builds one encounter at a time.
