    About This Skill

    What will be done

Audit any website, web app, design, or page against the standard U.S. courts actually apply to ADA web cases (WCAG 2.1 AA, with WCAG 2.2 additions), and flag the specific patterns that drive accessibility lawsuits and demand letters.

      Two layers, one review

      • WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA technical audit: a criterion-by-criterion checklist across Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust, with severity ratings tied to the exact success criterion (for example 1.4.3, 2.1.1, 4.1.2).
      • ADA litigation-risk review: the legal standard in plain terms, the highest-risk surfaces (checkout, booking, sign-up, media, PDFs, third-party embeds, overlays), mobile and 200% zoom, and the accessibility-statement posture that settlements expect.

      Why it is different

      • Honest by design. It never claims to "guarantee compliance," because no audit can. It separates what was measured from what still needs manual keyboard and screen-reader testing.
      • Current on the law (mid-2026). Covers the 2024 DOJ Title II rule and its 2026 deadline extension, Section 508, state laws like California's Unruh Act, and the FTC action against an accessibility-overlay vendor.
      • Triage you can act on. Every finding gets a Critical, Major, or Minor rating, prioritised by who is blocked.

      What's included

      • SKILL.md: framing, a severity model, the workflow, and a ready-to-fill report template.
      • references/wcag-checklist.md: the full WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA success-criterion checklist.
      • references/ada-legal-context.md: the legal standard, litigation-risk patterns, overlays, documents, and remediation expectations.

      Who it is for

Founders, product and design teams, agencies, and developers who want to understand their accessibility barriers and legal exposure before a demand letter arrives.

Not legal advice. This is a technical audit that supports a remediation effort; for actual exposure, consult an ADA-experienced attorney.

    Use Cases

    • Identify blockers in checkout and sign-up flows for screen-reader users
    • Audit Figma designs for color contrast and touch target compliance
    • Flag high-risk 'accessibility overlays' that increase lawsuit exposure
    • Draft technical remediation tickets mapped to WCAG 2.1 AA criteria
    • Review PDFs and third-party embeds for Section 508 and ADA risk

    ada-compliance/**

Read-only accessibility analysis. Read Files: the HTML or design files you provide, plus the skill's two bundled reference checklists in ada-compliance/references/. Browser: used only when you give it a live URL, to fetch and inspect that page (it connects to the URL you provide, not a fixed host). It writes no files, runs no shell commands, and uses no credentials or environment variables.

No runtime dependencies: SKILL.md plus two Markdown reference files. Works with any SKILL.md-compatible agent (Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor, VS Code Copilot, Gemini CLI). For live-URL audits, best paired with a real-browser accessibility tool (axe DevTools, WAVE, or Lighthouse) and manual keyboard/screen-reader testing.
