Web Agency Prospect Audit: Site Teardown to Outreach Email
Example session with this skill installed
Audit this bakery's website before I pitch them and draft a short e-mail.
- Read your context and instructions
- Compiled the web agency prospect
I audited the bundled demo: the home page of an invented bakery, Harbor Lane Bakery.
Step 1: audit
Website audit: 10 checks
check result evidence
-------------- ------------ --------
https issue the page ends on plain http after 1 redirect(s); the Chrome browser shows an info or 'Not secure' label for such pages
viewport issue no mobile viewport tag (width=device-width), so phones may show a shrunken desktop page
title issue no meta description in the page head
h1 issue 0 H1 headings (one main heading is usual)
alt-text issue 2 of 3 images have no alt attribute
page-weight ok HTML 1 kB, 2 external scripts, 2 stylesheets, 3 images
cms issue the page publishes its platform and version (WordPress 5.8.3) in a generator tag
copyright issue the copyright line says 2019; it is 2026, which can make the site look unmaintained
contact ok 1 role address(es)
local-business issue no LocalBusiness structured data (schema.org) in JSON-LD or microdata; it can give search engines the address and opening hours in machine-readable form
Fit score: 10 of 10 (this skill's weights; more and weightier issues = more for a web agency to offer)
Top signals (at most five; the draft may use only these):
1. [https] the page ends on plain http after 1 redirect(s); the Chrome browser shows an info or 'Not secure' label for such pages
2. [viewport] no mobile viewport tag (width=device-width), so phones may show a shrunken desktop page
3. [cms] the page publishes its platform and version (WordPress 5.8.3) in a generator tag
4. [copyright] the copyright line says 2019; it is 2026, which can make the site look unmaintained
5. [title] no meta description in the page head
Recipient: info@harborlanebakery.example
(1 personal-looking address(es) on the page were counted and are not shown)
Step 2: outreach draft (two signals only)
To: info@harborlanebakery.example
Subject: Two things I noticed on the Harbor Lane Bakery website
Hi Harbor Lane Bakery team,
I looked at your home page today and noticed two things that could be improved:
1. The page ends on plain http after 1 redirect, so Chrome shows an info or "Not secure" label next to your address.
2. There is no mobile viewport tag, so phones may show a shrunken desktop version of the page.
Both are quick fixes: move the site to https with a redirect, and add the viewport tag so the page fits a phone screen.
If it is useful, I can send a short write-up of both fixes, free of charge. This is a sales e-mail from <Agency name>, a web agency.
Best regards,
<Sender name>, <Agency name>
<Postal address>
<Phone or website>
Reply "no thanks" and I will not write again.
The sender, agency and postal address are placeholders until you give them.
Step 3: the same check on a fixed version of the page
check result evidence
-------------- ------------ --------
https ok requested over http, redirected to https (1 redirect(s), HSTS header present)
viewport ok a mobile viewport tag is set
title ok title 51 characters, meta description 128 characters
h1 ok exactly 1 H1 heading
alt-text ok all 3 images have a text alternative (alt, aria-label or aria-labelledby)
page-weight ok HTML 1 kB, 0 external scripts, 1 stylesheets, 3 images
cms ok built with WordPress; no version number published
copyright ok copyright year 2026
contact ok 1 role address(es), 1 phone link(s)
local-business ok LocalBusiness structured data (schema.org) found
Fit score: 0 of 10 (this skill's weights; more and weightier issues = more for a web agency to offer)
Top signals (at most five; the draft may use only these):
- none: no issue found, so there is no case for an outreach e-mail
Recipient: info@harborlanebakery.example
What this means
- The audit found eight fixable issues and picked the five strongest, each with the evidence it printed.
- The draft cites only two of them, because a short, specific e-mail is easier to check and to answer than a list of everything.
- Before sending, add your sender details and check the sending rules for your country in
references/compliance.md. The personal address on the page was counted but never shown, and the draft goes to the role address.

About this skill
Use when you run a web agency or freelance and want a quick, honest reason to contact a business about its website. A standard-library Python script reads the saved home page and its response headers and checks ten signals: HTTPS and redirects, the mobile viewport tag, title and meta description, H1, alt text, page weight, a published platform version, an old copyright year, contact routes and LocalBusiness structured data. It picks the five weightiest issues with the evidence and gives a fit score. The skill then drafts a short e-mail that cites two of those findings and nothing else, goes only to a role address the site publishes at its own domain (such as info@) or one you give, and always includes the sender, a postal address and an opt-out line. Personal e-mail addresses on the page are counted, never shown. A reference page summarises the EU ePrivacy and GDPR rules and US CAN-SPAM with primary sources; you remain responsible for sending lawfully. Do not use when you need a full SEO or accessibility audit, bulk lead scraping or a mass e-mail campaign.
Example prompts
- "Audit this bakery's website before I pitch them and draft a short e-mail."
- "Is this dentist's site a good lead for my web agency? Give me the evidence."
- "Write an outreach e-mail about two concrete problems on this home page, nothing pushy."
Requires
Python 3.9+ (standard library only) and bash or zsh for the commands with a separator line. Fetching the page needs an agent that can run curl, or you save the page yourself. On claude.ai the demo runs with code execution enabled.
Compatibility
Written for SKILL.md-compatible agents, for example Claude Code, Claude.ai skills, Codex CLI, Cursor or Gemini CLI. Each documents the SKILL.md format; not every agent was tested. The seller suggests Claude Sonnet 4.5 or later.
Limits
The ten checks, thresholds, weights and fit score are the skill's own heuristics. The audit reads one saved page and its headers; it does not load scripts or images, so it cannot measure speed or how the page looks, and it makes no claim about traffic, rankings or lost customers. Only role addresses with names on a fixed list, at the checked site's own domain, are shown; delete the saved page after the audit. The compliance page is a summary, not legal advice, and covers the EU/EEA and the United States only.
Independence
Not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic, OpenAI, Anysphere (Cursor) or Google. Product names are used only to describe compatibility and the sources the checks cite.
