The Odds API — sportsbook odds and no-vig fair prices

This skill fetches sportsbook odds from The Odds API and removes the vig to produce fair, no-vig prices — the useful comparison point when you want to know whether a prediction-market price for the same game is off against the sportsbook's fair line. The default bookmaker is Pinnacle.

It is built around the free Starter plan's credit budget of 500 credits per month, and the discipline is the product: the sports and events endpoints are free and used for discovery, while odds costs (number of markets) × (number of regions). Pulls stay minimal — head-to-head market only, regions=us, bookmakers=pinnacle — responses are cached locally (about 15 minutes, and replays inside the window are free), and the remaining quota reported in each response is checked so the agent stops before the budget runs dry.

The de-vig math is spelled out: for two-outcome decimal odds, implied probabilities are the reciprocals, the overround is their sum, and each fair price is its implied probability divided by the overround — multiplied by 100 for fair cents.

Auth is a free API key from the-odds-api.com passed as the apiKey query parameter, read from the environment or secrets store at runtime — never hardcoded, never written to files, logs, or memory, and authenticated requests are restricted to api.the-odds-api.com. On a 401 or 403, the first check is that the apiKey parameter was actually attached, before questioning the key.
