Softbot Tools: Web Reader, Screenshots & Safety Checks

softbot-tools is an instruction-only skill that teaches coding agents like Claude Code, Cursor and Codex to use Softbot Studio's pay-per-call tools through the open-source softbot-mcp MCP server (npm softbot-mcp v0.2.0, MCP registry io.github.softbot-studio/softbot-mcp).

What your agent can do with it

• Read a web page as clean markdown, with no browser needed (read_url, $0.003)
• Extract structured data from a page: tables as rows, JSON-LD, meta/OpenGraph, contacts, links, CSS-selector fields (extract_structured, $0.004)
• Screenshot a page or save it as a PDF, rendered in real headless Chrome (screenshot_url / page_to_pdf, $0.01)
• Check an email address or mail domain: MX, disposable, role, typo, SPF/DMARC/DKIM and domain age, without contacting the mailbox (check_email / check_domain, $0.002)
• Check an unfamiliar website or link for phishing, lookalike domains, HTTPS and domain age (check_website, $0.003)
• Check a Solana token before trading (safe / caution / avoid, with reasons) (check_solana_token, $0.01)
• Check a Solana wallet before paying or trusting it, including an OFAC sanctions match (check_wallet, $0.005)

Up-front disclosure: the tools are paid HTTP APIs (x402 protocol) hosted by Softbot Studio. Your inputs (URLs, emails, domains, addresses) are sent to Softbot Studio servers on *.softbot.workers.dev. Each wallet gets 3 free calls per tool, proven by a wallet signature, with no funds moved; a store-wide cap of 200 free calls a day applies. After that, each call spends $0.002–$0.01 in USDC from your own Solana wallet. The MCP server keeps your key local, enforces a per-session spending cap (MAX_SPEND_USDC, default $0.25), refuses to pay more than the advertised price, and offers a price-only dry-run mode. Failed calls are never charged. The skill itself contains no scripts or executable code.

Requirements: an MCP-capable agent, Node.js 20+ (for npx -y softbot-mcp), and for paid calls a Solana wallet holding a little USDC (no SOL needed). The free trial needs a wallet key for signing but no funds.
