About this skill
Differentiation (read this first)
Unlike seo-meta-tags-generator (which writes titles/descriptions/schema) or schema rich-results audits (JSON-LD eligibility), this pack audits share-preview readiness: Open Graph (og:*) and Twitter Card (twitter:*) tags on saved HTML — so LinkedIn / X / Slack / iMessage unfurls do not ship broken. It never invents tags and never claims CTR or engagement lift.
Sample output (offline dry-run on the included Harborline Tools HTML — 2026-10-16)
pages=4 | PASS=1 | WARN=1 | FAIL=2
| URL | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| /guides/dock-cleats | PASS | og:* + twitter:card present; titles aligned |
| /compare/anchor-clamp-pro-vs-standard | WARN | <title> 95>60; og:title ≠ title; empty share-image alt |
| /pricing/anchor-clamp-pro | FAIL | missing og:image; missing twitter:card |
| /faq/dock-hardware | FAIL | og:image is relative (not absolute http/https) |
The problem Marketers paste a landing URL into Slack or LinkedIn and the preview shows the wrong title, no image, or a truncated headline. Meta-tag generators write copy; they do not QA whether the tags you already shipped will unfurl cleanly. Schema audits and citation-freshness packs do not cover this gap.
What it does
- Parses saved HTML for
og:title,og:description,og:image,og:url,og:type,twitter:card,twitter:title,twitter:description,twitter:image - Flags FAIL for missing critical tags or non-absolute
og:image - Flags WARN for title truncation risk (>60), title≠og:title drift, missing og:url/type, empty share-image alt
- Writes CSV + Markdown; stdout one-liner for agents/CI
- Offline-first, stdlib Python only — no paid APIs, no network in default mode
Why this beats prompting it yourself Same PASS/WARN/FAIL rules every run. Offline works unplugged. Never invents tags. CSV your agent can diff in CI before a campaign launch.
Use cases
- Pre-flight before posting a landing URL to LinkedIn / X / Slack / iMessage
- Agency deliverable: "share preview audit" on client HTML exports
- CI gate after a CMS template change that touches head tags
Example session
"Audit these landing pages for Open Graph + Twitter Card share-preview readiness." →
pages=4 | PASS=1 | WARN=1 | FAIL=2→ Fix checklist: add absolute og:image + twitter:card on pricing; shorten compare title; fix FAQ relative image path
