Write a proposal from these discovery call notes. Today is 7 October 2026.

Call: 6 October 2026, Rivet & Oak (furniture workshop, Nantes), Théo Marchand (owner)

    • 4 people in the workshop, they make oak tables and shelving to order. Been going 6 years.
    • Right now most work comes from word of mouth and one interior designer who sends jobs. She's retiring next year, which is why he called.
    • Wants "enquiries from people who don't already know us". Ideally 4-5 serious enquiries a month, they currently get maybe 1-2.
    • Average job is €2,000-4,000 so he says even one extra job pays for this.
    • Instagram @rivetandoak, 3,400 followers. He posts maybe twice a month, usually a finished table photo, no caption really. Bio has no link, just the phone number.
    • The workshop videos his apprentice filmed (planing, joinery) did much better than the finished photos, he doesn't know why.
    • No Facebook. Has a LinkedIn page nobody uses. Thinks LinkedIn could matter because a lot of work is offices and architects.
    • No website shop, just a contact form. Site is fine, he says.
    • He can't do the posting himself, "I'm in the workshop all day".
    • Photos: happy to film stuff on the phone if I tell him exactly what.
    • Budget: didn't give a number. Said "what do people normally pay for this" and that he pays his accountant €200 a month as a reference point.
    • Decision: he decides, but wants to "talk to my wife" first. She does the books.
    • Wants to start "before Christmas orders".

My Essential package is €450/month. I do 1-3 platforms, posts + stories, community management on the bigger packages, monthly report. I'm Sam Ortega (Ortega Social).

Social media proposal for Rivet & Oak

Prepared by Sam Ortega, Ortega Social · 7 October 2026 · Valid until 21 October 2026

    Your goals

    • Enquiries from people who do not already know you, rather than word of mouth alone.
    • 4-5 serious enquiries a month, up from the 1-2 you get today.
    • Less dependence on the interior designer who sends you work and retires next year.
    • Up and running before Christmas orders start.

    What I found

    PlatformWhat is workingBiggest opportunity
Instagram (@rivetandoak, 3,400 followers)3,400 people already follow the work, and the workshop videos your apprentice filmed did noticeably better than finished-piece photosPosting twice a month with no captions and no link in the bio. People who want a quote have no obvious next step.
LinkedIn (page exists, unused)Your buyers include offices and architects, who are on LinkedInThe page is dormant. The same workshop footage, written for a commissioning audience, has no competition there.

Process videos do better than finished photos because a finished table is a picture, while planing and joinery show the skill someone is paying for, and hold attention longer.

    How I would work

Content pillars: in the workshop (process), finished commissions with the story behind them, materials and care, and how commissioning works.
    2. Rhythm: [x] posts a week, planned a month ahead, so you approve once and then forget about it.
    3. Filming: I send a short shot list each month, your apprentice films on a phone, I edit and write.
    4. Enquiries: a link in the bio to your contact form, and a clear next step in the caption.
    5. Monthly review: a report with the numbers, the best posts, and next month's plan.

Minimum term 3 months, then month to month with 30 days notice. Fees are invoiced monthly in advance. Prices [exclude / include] VAT. Any advertising spend is paid directly by you to the platform.

Why I recommend the middle package: your buyers are split between private clients on Instagram and offices and architects on LinkedIn. One platform would only reach half of them, and LinkedIn is where the designer's referrals could be replaced.

    Your first 30 days

    WeekWhat happens
1Onboarding questionnaire, access to Instagram and the LinkedIn page, shot list sent
2Content pillars agreed and the first calendar sent for approval

4Check-in: what reached people, what brought enquiries, what to adjust before Christmas

    Not included

    • Advertising spend
    • Professional photo or video shoots (we use phone footage from the workshop)
    • Website changes
    • Replying to enquiries that arrive by phone or email

    Next steps

    1. Reply with the package you choose.
    2. I send the service agreement, the first invoice and the onboarding questionnaire.
    3. We start within 7 days of the first payment, which keeps us ahead of Christmas orders.

    • Prices are built from your €450 Essential: Recommended at €800 (1.8×) and Premium at €1,300 (2.9×). Adjust if you price differently.
    • Posts per week are left as [x]: decide the rhythm you can sustain (8 posts a month is about 2 a week).
    • Théo gave no budget. He mentioned paying his accountant €200 a month, so €800 may need the "one extra job pays for the year" framing on the call. His average job is €2,000-4,000, by his own figures.
    • The Premium third platform is a placeholder; do not name TikTok or Pinterest until he wants it.
    • He wants to talk to his wife, who does the books, before deciding. The 14-day validity gives them time.
    • No claims about results are made anywhere, since none can be promised.

Subject: Your social media proposal, Rivet & Oak

    Hi Théo,

Thanks for the call yesterday. You were clear about the goal: enquiries from people who do not already know you, four or five a month, and not depending on one designer's referrals.

I have attached a proposal with three options. I recommend the middle one, €800 a month: Instagram for private clients and LinkedIn for the offices and architects, 12 posts a month built from workshop footage your apprentice films.

The proposal is valid until 21 October. Reply with the option you and your wife choose, and we can start before Christmas orders begin.

    Best,
    Sam

    About this skill

Turn the notes from a discovery call into an offer the prospect can say yes to, without promising results nobody can promise.

    What you get

    • Goals written in the prospect's own words
    • A quick audit table: what is working on each platform, and the biggest opportunity
    • Strategy in four lines: pillars, rhythm, engagement, monthly review
    • Three packages (Essential, Recommended, Premium) with fee, platforms, posts, community management, reporting and ads
    • Terms: minimum period, notice, invoicing, VAT line, and ad spend paid by the client
    • A first-30-days table and a not-included list
    • A "To confirm before sending" list of every placeholder and assumption
    • A follow-up email of 80 to 120 words

    Pricing help

Give one price and the skill anchors the rest: Essential as given, Recommended about 1.5 to 2 times, Premium about 2.5 to 3 times, rounded to clean numbers. Give no price and every figure stays a placeholder.

    What it will not do

    • Invent audit findings, past results, client names or testimonials
    • Guarantee followers, reach or sales
    • Hide that ad spend is the client's cost
