Ship Your MCP Server
Release gate for MCP servers: catches stdout pollution on stdio, manifest drift, leaked keys and the OAuth challenge clients never see — with a real initialize handshake.

About this skill
A release gate for MCP servers. It answers one question with evidence instead of opinion: can this server be submitted to a public registry and survive a real client?
Most MCP servers that fail publicly do not fail because the tool logic is wrong. They fail because of four boring, repeatable things:
- stdout carries non-protocol output on a stdio server → every client hangs or errors, and the author's own test suite passes (they never spoke JSON-RPC over the pipe).
- Manifests disagree with reality —
server.jsonsays1.0.0, the package says0.9.7, the registry indexes a version that does not exist. - A live key or a local absolute path is in the repo → the listing is rejected or pulled.
- The OAuth challenge is missing → the client never learns it must authenticate, and the user sees "server returned 401" with no login prompt. This is the single most common "it works for me, not for them" bug for remote servers.
This skill ships the checks as an executable, not as prose.
