Price band (per clinic per month): low $19 · typical $32 to $49 · premium $79. Setup help, seats and local language move the price.
Positioning map (self-serve vs done-for-you · generic vs dental-specific)
generic dental-specific
self-serve calendar SaaS BookFlow, SlotCare
done-for-you spreadsheet ClinicDesk, [proposed offer]
Gap: small clinics wanting a set-up-for-you tool in Malay have only ClinicDesk, whose reviews mention slow support.
First ten: warm referrals from 2 clinic owners, then one dental association group, then 15 targeted clinics. Ask: a paid 30-day pilot.
Verdict: price at the $32 to $49 band, done-for-you. Alternative: build narrower for Malay-only clinics.
Next steps
- Take the band to your pricing step to set the final number.
- Book the 2 warm referrals this week.
- Refresh the price rows before publishing a price.

About this skill
You priced the offer from a guess because nobody checked what others charge. The competitor list had three apps but ignored the spreadsheet most buyers actually use, and a price copied from a page last year is now quoted as current.
Rivalgrid runs a dated one-page market scan from free sources before you build, price or list something.
What it does
- Frames the scan: what is offered, who pays, the job, region and language, and the decision it supports.
- 5 to 8 real alternatives across direct competitors, substitutes (spreadsheet, agency, freelancer, generic SaaS), local players and doing nothing.
- Capture table per alternative: kind, buyer, core promise, price and unit, free tier, strength, weakness from reviews, source link and date checked. Blank beats a guess.
- Every price labelled listed, quoted on request or estimate, with currency conversions stated with rate and date.
- Price band of low, typical and premium in the buyer's unit, and what moves the price.
- Two-axis positioning map as a text grid, using axes the buyer cares about.
- Honest gap, or a no-gap verdict.
- First-ten path with one concrete ask: pilot, paid trial or letter of intent.
How it works
- Frame the buyer and the decision.
- List and capture alternatives from web search, marketplaces, pricing pages, reviews, job ads and forums.
- Date and label every number, then benchmark the band.
- Map, name the gap, and plan the first ten customers.
- Verdict: build, build narrower, price at a band, or stop. Saved as
market-scan-<topic>-<YYYY-MM-DD>.md.
Frameworks & tools
Free public sources only: web search, marketplaces, app stores, competitor pages, public reviews, job ads, forums and public tender notices. It asks before spending credits on paid tools.
Why this beats prompting it yourself
A prompt often returns confident, undated prices and "no competitors". Rivalgrid always includes a substitute and doing nothing, links and dates every row, and marks estimates as estimates.
Use cases
- Pre-build validation before committing weeks.
- Pricing benchmark when you have no outside reference.
- Marketplace listing scan of category, top sellers and review complaints.
- Client question "is anyone else doing this?"
Known limitations
One page, not a full industry report or market-sizing study. Gives a price band, not your final price, and does not write outreach messages. Companies and public listings only, never private individuals.
How to use
Skills on Agensi run inside your AI agent. Copy the prompt, paste it into your agent, and it connects to Agensi and installs this skill for you. If a payment is needed, your agent shows it to you first.
