Prepare an import preview using only the six identifiers below. Do not browse, read my Zotero library, or make changes. Normalize the identifiers, identify repeated entries and say what you still need before importing.

    1. https://doi.org/10.1038/nature14539

Import preview — no library changes

The six supplied entries contain three distinct normalized identifiers. Each appears twice. This is a comparison of the supplied list only; I have not checked whether these references already exist in Zotero.

    Input entriesTypeNormalized identifierProposed handling
1 and 2DOI10.1038/nature14539Keep one DOI import candidate; omit the repeated input.
3 and 4arXiv1706.03762v7Keep one candidate and retain the explicitly requested v7.
5 and 6ISBN-139780262035613Keep one book candidate; the ISBN-13 checksum is valid.

    What is verified

The identifier wrappers and ISBN separators are normalized. The repeated entries match within their respective identifier types. The ISBN checksum passes. Titles, authors, publication metadata, library duplicates and PDF access remain unverified because this preview uses only your supplied text.

    Before an import

Choose the target personal or group library and destination collection, and authorize the import. With the free zotero-library-mcp server connected, I can check access, resolve metadata, use the appropriate DOI, arXiv and ISBN import tools, and report the actual outcome for each reference. PDF availability will be reported separately from metadata import success.

Completed: identifier-only preview. Zotero reads: none. Zotero writes: none. Network requests: none.

Connects securely to your tools. The creator never sees your data.

    About this skill

Independent, unofficial product by Raul Sîmpetru. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially licensed by the Corporation for Digital Scholarship or the Zotero project.

Turn scattered references into a research library you can use.

Research Workflows for Zotero gives your AI agent practical workflows for importing references, reading papers with traceable evidence, creating research notes and PDF highlights, reviewing duplicates, and preparing BibTeX exports.

    What you get

    • An original SKILL.md companion plus three focused workflow references.
    • DOI, arXiv and ISBN intake with an import preview and separate outcomes for imports and PDFs.
    • Collection-based reading queues and evidence matrices that distinguish metadata, abstracts and inspected full text.
    • Source-grounded notes and PDF annotation workflows with location checks.
    • Duplicate review that preserves attention to editions, attachments, notes and annotations.
    • Citation metadata checks and scoped BibTeX exports.

Built for researchers, graduate students and research teams who already use Zotero and want repeatable literature workflows inside an MCP-capable AI agent.

The separate zotero-library-mcp server is free and MIT licensed: https://github.com/RaulSimpetru/zotero-library-mcp. Your purchase is for the companion workflows and reference guides. It does not include server hosting, model access, Zotero storage, installation services or a support subscription. Connect the free server to your own Zotero account before using library actions.

The included demo is an identifier-only import preview. It makes no network requests or library changes and does not claim a live Zotero import.

Zotero is a registered trademark of the Corporation for Digital Scholarship. The name is used to identify compatibility. The MIT license refers only to the independent zotero-library-mcp server's code; no Zotero trademark license, certification or endorsement is claimed. You are buying an independent workflow companion, not Zotero software or an official Zotero service.
