Fictional customer request
Everything below is invented for a product demonstration. No outside research is needed.
I run operations at Ternline, a small equipment-sharing service for neighborhood workshops. I need a presentation for our Monday leadership meeting. We have seven minutes, followed by questions. Please make a finished deck we can open on an offline laptop. Aim for about seven slides, but use your judgment. Include speaker notes. We will also print a handout.
The decision is whether to fund a second, larger test of a pickup-confirmation workflow. I am in favor of a measured follow-up, but I do not want the small pilot to sound like proof. Our name is written as Ternline. Brand colors: midnight #142B38, chalk #F4F2EA, and orange #D86642. No logo file. Use clear diagrams and charts rather than stock photos. Our meeting room has a 16:9 screen. Some colleagues will read the file on their phones later.
My rough notes
The old pickup flow is: reservation made, email receipt, member arrives, staff searches the booking list, staff marks the item collected. Sometimes a member comes to the wrong pickup desk or arrives before equipment is ready. The proposed flow adds a readiness check by staff and a confirmation message containing a desk name and pickup window. The booking itself does not change.
The four-week test ran August 3–30, 2026. In both groups, a pickup event means a member physically arrived to collect an item. Repeat visits count as separate pickup events. A delayed pickup means the item was handed over more than ten minutes after arrival. The two groups operated at different sites; members were not randomized.
| Measure | Existing workflow, Riverside site | Pilot workflow, Market site |
|---|---|---|
| Pickup events | 120 | 96 |
| Delayed pickup events | 30 | 12 |
| Median handover time after arrival | 8 minutes | 5 minutes |
| Staff minutes spent preparing messages per week | 18 | 41 |
| Missing or incorrect desk messages logged | 0 | 4 |
Riverside is open six days a week; Market is open four days. Market also handles fewer power tools. We did not record member satisfaction, labor cost per event, or return visits after this trial. The raw event log is not included here; the table is the final manual tally signed by the two site leads on September 1, 2026.
Two staff comments from the September 2 review:
- Riverside lead: "We lose time finding the reservation when people bring only a name."
- Market lead: "The desk label helped, but writing the messages took longer than expected."
Draft next test
Four sites for six weeks, with the site managers agreeing on one delay definition and one message template before the start. Proposed budget: $2,400 total, made up of $1,600 for temporary coverage and $800 for message-template setup. This is an internal budget request in USD, not a supplier quote. Operations can own the test. We still need a named person to own data review. September 14 is the proposed start, subject to staffing.
Proposed review criteria, not commitments: compare within each site against its prior six weeks, record message-preparation minutes, and log wrong-desk messages. Do not use the four-site result to make staffing cuts automatically. Leadership can approve the full test, request a narrower test, or decline.
I have attached no other documents, audio, templates, or images. Please do the work without waiting for an outline approval.

Fictional demonstration from an actual local trial. This is not a real customer result. Local links and machine-specific paths are displayed as text.
Created a seven-slide Ternline deck, a seven-page printable PDF handout, and speaker notes. Open deck.html offline; use Previous/Next, arrow keys, Home/End, and the Speaker notes toggle. The planned talk is seven minutes; it has not been rehearsed.
The deck presents the 25% versus 12.5% observed delay rates without a causal claim and shows the additional 23 staff minutes per week. The $2,400 follow-up remains a proposal, with a data-review owner and staffing unresolved.
Every HTML slide was rendered and inspected, navigation/notes were exercised, and narrow-screen, print, reduced-motion, and JavaScript-disabled behavior were checked. The actual handout PDF was generated; no live audience acceptance is claimed.

speaker-notes.md
## 1. Fund a measured follow-up. Keep the claim modest.
Open with the decision: authorize a larger, measured follow-up, narrow it, or decline. The 216 events are 120 at Riverside and 96 at Market, not unique members. This is a proposal. Allow about 45 seconds.
## 2. Add readiness and location before arrival.
Walk along the existing sequence. Staff sometimes discover the location or readiness mismatch only when the member arrives. In the proposed sequence, staff check readiness and send a desk name and pickup window before arrival. It still requires staff work, and the booking itself is unchanged. Allow 60 seconds.
## 3. Fewer delayed events at the pilot site; attribution remains open.
Thirty divided by 120 is 25 percent. Twelve divided by 96 is 12.5 percent. The observed gap is 12.5 percentage points. It is also a 50 percent lower observed rate, but that relative number should not become a causal claim. The sites differ in opening days and equipment mix. Allow 60 seconds.
## 4. Handover was shorter; preparing messages took more time.
The medians describe handover after arrival, not total customer experience. Message preparation increased from 18 to 41 minutes per week, a difference of 23. We have no labor cost per event, so do not convert this into savings or loss. Four missing or incorrect desk messages are a useful design signal, not proof the whole workflow failed. Allow 60 seconds.
## 5. The next test should separate workflow effects from site differences.
The Market quote is from the September 2 review. The Riverside lead also said, “We lose time finding the reservation when people bring only a name.” These are useful observations from staff, not measured customer outcomes. Raw event logs were not supplied, so this deck relies on the signed manual tally. Allow 60 seconds.
## 6. Four sites, six weeks, one common definition.
This is a proposed design, not an approved commitment. Within-site before/after comparisons improve consistency but still do not remove all confounding. Confirm a named data reviewer and staffing before the proposed September 14 start. Allow 65 seconds.
## 7. Approve the full test, narrow it, or decline.
Ask leadership to choose one of the three options. If approved, Operations can own execution but someone must be named to review data. Review criteria are proposals. Do not turn the four-site result into automatic staffing cuts. This talk is planned for about seven minutes; it has not been rehearsed. Allow 70 seconds.
