    How I found them: the state's public list of licensed fire protection contractors. That is all I know. I do not know the owner's name, age, size or how long they have been going.
    About me: I ran field operations at a building-services company for 12 years and want to buy and run one business myself.
    My voice: short sentences, plain, a bit dry. Example of mine: "I would rather ask a plain question than send a long pitch."

    • The first message is under 120 words and does not say "I represent a fund", does not imply a broker or an adviser, and does not suggest a deal is certain.
    • Each follow-up adds a new reason to reply (who you are; a low-pressure option) rather than just bumping.
    • If you learn one real detail about the company (for example from their website), add it to the first message. Generic flattery gets ignored.
