Current status

The key result is 55% complete with four weeks remaining. Before labeling it on track or off track, confirm the metric definition, baseline, target, update date and whether progress is linear.

Dependency review

Name the delayed dependency, owner, revised delivery estimate, downstream impact and available alternatives. Separate confirmed dates from estimates.

Options

1. Remove or reduce the dependency through a smaller experiment.
2. Re-sequence work to deliver an independent portion.
3. Adjust scope if the original result is no longer feasible.
4. Keep target and record a confidence downgrade if learning still matters.

Support needed

Identify leadership decision, cross-team help, capacity or risk acceptance required, with owner and due date.

Update format

“Progress is 55%; confidence is medium/low because [evidence]. Next milestone is [date]. We will test [action] and decide by [date].”

Coaching note

Focus on learning and removing blockers, not blame. Preserve the original target and document any approved change for transparent quarter-end review.

Measurement and review

Record the baseline, source, date range, denominator and owner. Use one primary measure plus quality guardrails; compare like-for-like cohorts and disclose missing data. Treat estimates as scenarios, not observed outcomes.

Risks and controls

Check relevance, consent, disclosure, workload and downside before scaling. Keep an evidence trail, obtain human review for material commitments, and pause if trust, quality or compliance signals deteriorate.
