Example session with this skill installed
Save only this session's new work summary, decisions and next steps in my approved Obsidian vault. Do not copy the raw conversation or commit/push Git. Then recall the saved decision.
- Read your context and instructions
- Compiled the oh my obsidian
Illustrative workflow (not a captured model-session transcript)
After native plugin registration, vault approval and restart, the agent uses the bundled helper to save only new work. A typical Markdown record contains:
Work summary
Prepared a free local project-memory package and checked native plugin installation for Codex CLI and Claude Code.
Decisions
- Store concise work summaries, decisions and next steps in the approved local vault.
- Require native hook registration; generic skill extraction does not activate automatic saving.
- Do not automatically commit or push Git changes.
Next steps
- Complete authenticated model-session checks before treating the candidate as production verified.
Evidence from this package
Windows native plugin installation succeeded in isolated Codex and Claude configuration directories. Extracted-runtime integration tests exercised real note writes, recall, quiet Stop receipts and Claude turn identifiers: 41 passed, 1 skipped. Full source regression: 82 passed, 9 skipped. These tests are not proof of a successful authenticated Claude model session; that check remains blocked by HTTP 401.
On revision conflict, sensitive-content refusal or denied filesystem permission, the agent reports failure and does not overwrite user edits or bypass protection. Automatic saving is best effort, not an abrupt-exit guarantee.
Connects securely to your tools. The creator never sees your data.
About this skill
Keep project memory in your own vault
Oh My Obsidian Free helps Codex CLI and Claude Code set up approved Obsidian project memory, recall earlier decisions, and save concise work summaries, decisions and next steps in local Markdown. Free, MIT licensed, with no subscription or activation key. Your agent/model usage costs are separate.
Included
- Guided new-vault setup and approved existing-vault attachment
- Local keyword recall
- Best-effort session saving through native lifecycle hooks
- Append-only session updates with revision and user-edit protection
- Native plugin manifests, Node helpers and templates
Installation and privacy
Requires Node.js 22+, a working Codex CLI or Claude Code installation, and permission to write to your selected vault. Extract the ZIP to a stable directory and follow SKILL.md. Native plugin registration and explicit vault approval are required: copying a generic skill folder alone does not activate hooks. Do not enable duplicate GitHub and Agensi plugin installations.
Notes stay in your selected vault; no vault upload to Agensi is required. Your normal agent/model provider still processes the conversation. Guided saves do not archive raw transcripts or automatically commit/push Git. Sensitive-content checks are heuristic, not a guarantee.
Candidate version and verified scope
This is a 0.3.6 candidate, not a production-verified release. Windows native plugin installation was tested in both CLIs. Extracted-runtime tests: 41 passed, 1 skipped. Full source regression: 82 passed, 9 skipped. A real authenticated Claude model-session check remains blocked by HTTP 401. Fresh artifact-level model-session checks and macOS/Linux verification remain pending. Community support; no SLA.
