How is this different from asking an AI to "make the Japanese sound more natural"?

A generic prompt usually swaps one AI habit for another. This skill first decides the document type, then checks six layers (notation, vocabulary, endings and rhythm, syntax, structure, content) against 59 listed tells, and fixes weak tells only when several appear together.

It is a standard SKILL.md skill. The author uses it with Claude Code, Codex and Cursor.

Will it change facts, numbers or code?

The skill is told not to change facts and not to add new ones. It cannot guarantee this, so check numbers and names in the result before you publish.

What is in the package?

SKILL.md with the workflow and the six-layer checklist (in Japanese), scripts/check.py (a tell counter, Python 3.9+, no dependencies), before/after examples, and the evaluation set and scoring script. It is free and MIT licensed.

Can it handle technical reports with file paths and identifiers?

Yes. For readers who do not read the code, it replaces internal names such as table or variable names with what they mean. For developer readers, it keeps the identifiers.

Does it support languages other than Japanese?

No. It only rewrites Japanese text. You can give the instructions in English.

About this skill

Rewrites Japanese text that reads as AI-generated into natural Japanese, without changing the facts.

Existing humanizer skills target English tells such as "delve" and the em dash. Japanese has its own tells, and those skills do not cover them. This skill is built from Japanese-language measurements and research, plus its own evaluation set. You do not need to read Japanese to use it: the checklist in SKILL.md is in Japanese because every example and detected phrase is Japanese.

What it does

Picks the document type first. Business documents get no added anecdotes or emotion. Casual reading (blogs, note.com) keeps the writer's voice.
Checks six layers: notation, vocabulary, sentence endings and rhythm, syntax, structure, and content. 59 tells in total, 25 of them starred.
Weighs tells by strength. A starred tell is fixed on sight. Weaker tells are fixed only when three or more different ones appear in the same paragraph.
Thresholds were set from 40 human and 40 AI texts (AUC per metric). See eval/README.md.
Comes with a counter, scripts/check.py (Python 3.9+, no dependencies), for bold text, em dashes, missing final periods, "not X but Y" contrasts, overused words, repeated sentence endings and sentence-length variance.
