    make me a 15 second promo video for my budgeting app Pennywise, for instagram reels

    • Read your context and instructions
    • Compiled the motion director

    Pennywise sounds like a great fit for Reels.

    Before I storyboard anything, I have a few quick questions so the first version lands right. Each one has a recommended default, so "defaults are fine" is a perfectly good answer.

    Already set from your message: 15 s · Instagram Reels · vertical 9:16 (1080×1920) · the hook lands within 1 s, because Reels viewers decide in under 2 s.

    1. Goal. What should viewers do after watching? Default: download the app.
    2. Audience. Who is it for? Default: 22–35-year-olds who find budgeting stressful.
    3. The one thing they should remember. What is the main benefit? Default: "See where every penny goes."
    4. Vibe. Clean & corporate · bold & energetic · premium & minimal · playful · techy? Default: bold & playful.
    5. Look and depth. Flat 2D, 2.5D parallax, or a 3D tilted phone? Default: 2.5D with a tilted phone.
    6. Brand. Colors (hex), font, logo, screenshots? Default: I'll design a palette and a simple logo.
    7. Copy and CTA. Exact lines, or should I write them? Default: I write them for your approval.

    Sound mood. Happy, upbeat, calm, intense, playful, tech, or your own music? Sound effects? Voice-over? Default: upbeat, with SFX and no voice-over.
    9. Quality. 1080p at 30 fps or 60 fps? Default: 1080p at 30 fps, one MP4.

    You: Defaults mostly fine! The main benefit is that it tells you how much you can safely spend

    today. Mint #2BD9A0 on near-black, no logo yet. Write the copy for me. Music and SFX yes.

    v1 plan (nothing rendered yet)

    User story: a 22–35-year-old scrolling Reels on mute sees an app that answers "can I afford this?" with one number, and downloads Pennywise.
    Single message: Pennywise tells you how much you can safely spend today.

    Concept: "One number." We open on a price tag and the thought "Can I afford this?" Your balance of $1,240 gets hit by rent, bills and subscriptions until only $90 is left. Then Pennywise does the math:

    Safe to spend today: $23 ($90 over the 4 days to payday, so the story adds up).

    #TimeOn screenMotionSound
    10.0–2.0 s"Can I afford this?" + a swinging "$89 Sneakers" tagThe tag swings in, the text is readable by 0.7 s, then a whip-panpop, whoosh
    22.0–5.0 s"Your balance lies." $1,240 → $90 as bill chips slam inThe chips drop on the beat, the card shakes, then we zoom into $90claps ×4, scratch
    35.0–11.0 s"Pennywise does the math." A 3D phone shows $23 safe to spendThe phone rises, the ring fills, and the cards pop out with depthimpact, success chime
    411.0–15.0 sLogo · "Know what you can spend today." · Download freeThe ring turns into the logo, the CTA slides up, and everything holds still for over 2 sfinal impact, shimmer

    Look: near-black with mint #2BD9A0 as the only accent, bold Inter type, a slow push-in on every shot, soft grain and a glow. All text stays inside the Reels safe zone, and the video works on mute.

    Style frames: hook · problem · hero · end card (4 rendered stills attached)

    Things you might want to change: (1) the hook item, (2) a softer line for shot 2: "Your balance isn't the full story.", (3) the CTA: "Download free" or "Try Pennywise free"?

    You: Use the softer line, and make the button "Try Pennywise free".

    v2 (only what changed)

    • Timing still works: the new 6-word line needs about 2.3 s to read and gets 2.9 s.

    Caught a problem before rendering: the longer line ran under the Reels like and comment buttons, so I reduced the text size slightly and moved it left.

    Production note: in the first render, the bill chips briefly slid over the balance number, so I shortened their drop. Nothing else changed from the approved v2.

    About this skill

    Stop getting videos built on guesses. Ask plain Claude for "a 15s promo for my app" and it renders straight away, guessing your message, brand and sound. In our tests it picked the wrong product benefit, invented performance numbers and showed them as fact, and left the client's URL off. Then you pay for the rebuild.

    Motion Director makes Claude work like a senior motion studio:

    1. Professional brief. One round of questions, each with a recommended default. It covers platform, aspect ratio, duration, fps and quality, style, camera angle, brand, copy, CTA, your images, sound mood, music, voice-over, SFX and captions. It never re-asks what you already said.
    2. User story. One clear message, plus acceptance criteria the final video is tested against.
    3. Storyboard and style frames. You see a frame-accurate shot table and real rendered stills before any rendering time is spent.
    4. Revision loop. v2, v3 and so on, showing only what changed. Nothing renders until you say "approved".
    5. Production. A Remotion build with a pro motion kit: expo easing, staggered type, parallax depth, 3D tilt, whip-pans, grain and vignette. Safe zones for Reels, TikTok and Shorts are built in.
    6. Automatic QA. It checks resolution, fps, duration, codec, loudness (−14 LUFS for social), true peak and the thumbnail frame. Then it produces a contact sheet and a QA report against your acceptance criteria.

    🔊 82 studio sounds in 7 mood kits

    Happy, sad, intense, playful, upbeat, calm/premium and tech. Each mood has its own music (14 tracks in total), plus whooshes, pops, impacts, risers and end-card sounds. Sounds are placed the way an editor would place them:

    • whooshes start just before the cut;
    • risers end exactly on the reveal;
    • impacts land on the frame;
    • music fades out instead of cutting off.

    You can also index your own Epidemic or Artlist library.
