Example session with this skill installed
- Feature Backlog: Dark mode, Zapier integration, AI email writer, custom domain support, user activity logs, SOC2 compliance dashboard.
- Available Resources: 1 Solo Developer (me), working 20 hours a week.
- Current MRR/Goal: Currently at $500 MRR, goal is to hit $2,000 MRR by reducing churn for B2B users.
- Read your context and instructions
- Compiled the micro-saas feature roadmap
1. Feature Scoring Matrix
| Feature | Effort (1-10) | MRR Impact (1-10) | Priority Tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| User activity logs | 3 | 6 | Quick Win |
| Zapier integration | 5 | 8 | Quick Win / Core Bet |
| Custom domain support | 5 | 7 | Strategic |
| AI email writer | 6 | 5 | Conditional (Heavy Lift) |
| Dark mode | 2 | 2 | Low Value (Defer) |
| SOC2 compliance dashboard | 9 | 3 | Time Sink (Discard) |
Capacity is about 520 hours over 6 months (20 hrs/week × 26 weeks). I reserved roughly 25% for support, bugs and churn conversations, which leaves about 390 build hours. Impact is scored against your goal of cutting B2B churn to reach $2,000 MRR, so integrations and lock-in features rank above acquisition features.
2. Strict 6-Month Roadmap
Month 1-2: Quick Wins & Core Fixes
User activity logs (~50h): Low effort, and B2B admins expect an audit trail. It also gives you data on which accounts go quiet before they churn.
Zapier integration (~100h): The highest impact on churn. Once customers wire your product into their workflows, switching costs rise sharply. Launch it with 2-3 pre-built Zap templates.
Month 3-4: Strategic Expansion
Custom domain support (~100h): Mid effort. Customers who put their own brand on your product rarely leave, and it can anchor a higher-priced tier. Use it to lift ARPU on existing accounts as well as to retain them.
Churn interviews and pricing change (~30h): Talk to every B2B account that cancelled or went inactive, and put Zapier and custom domains behind a higher tier.
Month 5-6: Heavy Lifts & Moat Building
AI email writer (~120h): Build it only if your churn interviews show email drafting is a real pain point. It's a differentiator and a marketing hook, but it adds ongoing API costs and does less for retention than the features above. If interviews say otherwise, spend this time deepening Zapier (more triggers and actions) instead.
- Buffer (~40h): Bugs, onboarding fixes and unexpected customer asks.
3. The Cutting Room Floor (Discarded/Deferred)
SOC2 compliance dashboard: Very high effort, and a dashboard without an actual SOC2 audit doesn't satisfy buyers. Revisit only when a customer worth more than the audit cost demands it, likely well above $5k MRR.
Dark mode: Cheap, but it won't move retention or revenue. Do it as a weekend task or fill-in if a feature finishes early.
Rough path to $2,000 MRR: The extra $1,500 per month is, for example, 15 accounts moving to a $100/month "Pro" tier (Zapier + custom domain) or a mix of upgrades and saved cancellations. That's realistic if the churn fixes land by month 4.

About this skill
Feature creep kills small software projects. This skill transforms a disorganized backlog into a high-ROI development plan by applying a ruthless scoring matrix to every request. It helps solo developers and small teams stop building features that do not move the needle on revenue.
What it does
- Feature scoring assigns numerical values for development effort and expected MRR impact to every item in the backlog.
- Priority tiering categorizes tasks into Quick Wins, Strategic Expansion, and Heavy Lifts based on ROI.
- Roadmap generation builds a structured 6-month execution plan grouped by implementation phase.
- Backlog pruning identifies and discards "Time Sinks" that demand high effort for low financial return.
How it works
- Input Backlog: Provide a list of feature requests, bugs, or improvements along with current engineering capacity.
- Matrix Evaluation: The agent scores each item from 1 to 10 on effort and impact scales.
- Phase Mapping: High-priority items are allocated to specific two-month windows in a 6-month calendar.
- Pruning Report: The agent lists features that failed to meet the ROI threshold for transparency.
Frameworks & tools
This skill is framework-agnostic and works for any software product where development hours and MRR are the primary metrics. It is optimized for Micro-SaaS business models and lean product management methodologies.
Why this beats prompting it yourself
General-purpose agents often hesitate to say "no" to features, leading to bloated roadmaps. This skill enforces a strict scoring logic that automatically moves low-value items to a cutting room floor, ensuring the final output is actionable and realistic.
Use cases
- Pruning a messy Trello or Jira backlog into a focused execution plan.
- Deciding which features to build next to reach a specific MRR goal.
- Communicating product direction to stakeholders using data-driven justifications.
- Auditing a product strategy to see if current tasks are actually high-ROI.
Known limitations
Requires specific inputs for resources and MRR goals to produce accurate scores. It does not account for technical debt unless explicitly listed as a backlog item.
