Every correction you give an agent is lost when the session ends, unless it lands in a skill. This skill tells your agent when a lesson belongs in a skill and how to put it there without breaking what already works.
What it does
- Decides if it is skill-worthy: a user correction, a mistake a skill should have prevented, a missed edge case, or a technique that just proved out. One-off task state is not.
- Finds the right target skill instead of spawning a near-duplicate.
- Applies the change additively: existing guidance is kept, the new rule is added next to it.
- Records and versions it: a Changelog entry plus a SemVer bump, so you can see why the skill changed and when.
- Keeps the skill self-contained and verifies the edit.
- Pressure-tests before calling it done: TDD for skills, checking the edited skill actually changes behavior.
When it triggers
The user corrects the agent, a skill failed to prevent a mistake, or a new technique just worked and should be kept.
