Docs rot when files move: a renamed heading or file breaks links that nobody notices until a reader hits them. This checks every internal link in a doc set without touching the network.
A folder (walks *.md and *.markdown, skipping .git, node_modules, dist, build) or specific files. Links inside code fences and inline code are ignored.
This skill bundles one standard-library Python file, scripts/md_doc_check.py (sha256 edb81d2898b77093c31f927f35658795b0dbf8c6e7e494fa2589ed5f9f1b30ee). If it is not already on disk:
- Write the bundled script text verbatim to a temp file outside the user's project, e.g.
T=$(mktemp --suffix=.py). - Check
sha256sum "$T"equalsedb81d2898b77093c31f927f35658795b0dbf8c6e7e494fa2589ed5f9f1b30ee. If it differs, rewrite it; never edit it. - Run
python3 "$T" "/path/to/docs-or-README.md" [--json]with each user path as a separately quoted argument. - Delete the temp file. Do not save the script into the project.
