User: "Nail salon in Sacramento. For 3 weeks I split $20/day between an instant form campaign and a 'send message' campaign to see which is better (export: ex2-nail-salon-form-vs-messages.csv). The form gets way cheaper leads so I'm thinking of killing messages. From Vagaro: 6 of the form leads booked, 8 of the message people booked. First Gel-X set is $70 with the new-client price. My front desk calls form leads when it's quiet, usually the next day. DMs get answered right away during open hours (10-7)."
Script run: python3 local-meta-lead-ads-audit/scripts/audit.py ex2-nail-salon-form-vs-messages.csv --booked "lead=6,messag=8" --value 70

Local Lead Ads Audit — Nail salon, Sacramento, Sep 21 – Oct 11, 2026
Snapshot: $420.40 over 21 days, split almost exactly in half. Forms brought 27 leads at $7.76 and messages brought 15 conversations at $14.06. But messages booked 8 clients at $26.36 each, against 6 at $34.92 from the form. Don't kill messages. On this data they're the cheaper way to get a client.
Money in, bookings out
| Result type | Spend | Results | Cost per result | Booked | Booked rate | Cost per booking |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Leads (instant form) | $209.50 | 27 | $7.76 | 6 | 22% | $34.92 |
| Messaging conversations | $210.90 | 15 | $14.06 | 8 | 53% | $26.36 |
(Leads and conversations aren't added together. They're different results.)
Estimate: at $70 per first set, messages returned $560 on $210.90 and the form $420 on $209.50.
Caution: 6 and 8 bookings are small numbers. The direction is clear but not settled. One more or one fewer booking moves cost per booking by $3–7.
Can this budget work?
- Each campaign runs about $10/day: roughly 9 form leads and 5 conversations a week, far from the ~50 a week Meta's learning phase looks for. Two campaigns at $10/day each means both stay in learning.
- Verdict: put the $20/day into
one campaign once you've picked a winner, and keep the same ad set (8 mi, women 22–50 is a sensible local radius).
Actions this week
| # | What | Action | Why (numbers) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Messages campaign | Keep. Move it to ~$14/day | $26.36 per booking vs $34.92 |
| 2 | Form campaign | Cut to ~$6/day for 2 more weeks, then decide | 22% booked; could improve with faster follow-up (below) |
| 3 | Carousel: price + sets (messages) | Leave | $15.43 per conversation vs $13.14 for the Reel; only 6 results, too early to split |
| 4 | Reel: Gel-X application | Keep in both | Cheapest ad in each campaign ($7.03 per lead, $13.14 per conversation) |
| 5 | Form follow-up | Text form leads within 15 min during 10–7 instead of a next-day call | The likeliest reason form leads book at 22% vs 53% |
Why leads aren't booking
Finding: speed and channel. DMs get answered right away and book at 53%. Form leads get a phone call the next day and book at 22%. The form leads asked for contact. A same-hour text with the $70 price and the booking link is the fair test before judging the form.
- Check: whether the form says the $70 new-client price, so it matches what the front desk quotes.
Re-test in 2 weeks with fast follow-up. If the form still costs more per booking, move the rest of the budget to messages.
Not checked
- The ads and form questions themselves
- Whether message bookings came from the ads or from people who'd have DMed anyway
- Repeat visits

About this skill
For local appointment businesses on small budgets: salons, barbers, lash, brow and nail studios, spas, groomers, trainers. Give it an Ads Manager CSV export and, if you have it, the number of bookings those leads turned into. The skill tells you where the money goes, whether your setup can work at $10-50/day, and why leads aren't booking.
What it does:
- Runs a bundled Python script (standard library only, no network) that splits results by type. It never adds leads, conversations and clicks together. It shows cost per result, weekly volume per ad set against Meta's learning-phase guidance, and, when you give booking counts, booked rate and cost per booking.
- Compares instant forms with message campaigns on cost per booking, not cost per lead.
- Checks small-budget structure (too many ad sets, wrong objective, radius) and creative fatigue (frequency, link CTR).
- Walks the usual reasons leads don't book: follow-up speed, call vs text, form friction, offer clarity, booking step, tracking.
You get a one-page audit: snapshot, money in vs bookings out, "can this budget work?", an action table for this week, and a "not checked" list. Estimates are labelled and show the math. No promised results, no tool or agency upsells.
