llms.txt is a Markdown file at your site's root that hands AI agents a clean, curated map of your content — no HTML noise, no JavaScript, no context-window bloat. This skill generates a spec-compliant one (and optional llms-full.txt) in the exact format agents parse. It: • Gathers the source — a website's sitemap/URLs or a repo's README and docs • Curates ruthlessly — the pages an AI most needs, not a sitemap dump (the #1 mistake) • Writes the exact llmstxt.org structure — single H1, blockquote summary, H2 link sections, and the precise "- [Title](URL): description" line format that deviation silently breaks • Adds an Optional section agents can skip • Validates every line and flags anything that wouldn't parse • Produces llms-full.txt too if you have substantial docs • Tells you where to place it and to keep it fresh (a stale file misinforms agents) Honest framing built in: as of 2026 most major AI crawlers don't reliably fetch llms.txt yet, so it's a near-zero-cost hedge and a business-to-agent routing layer for the agentic web — not a guaranteed ranking lift. It defers to the canonical spec at llmstxt.org.
