We're Gulf Static, a 4-piece. The Low Tide Lounge in Biloxi offered Saturday Nov 14: $300 flat, 80% of the door after $150, or $200 vs 70% after $250 house expenses. Tickets are $15 advance and $18 at the door, 150 cap, and we usually draw about 70. It's a 180-mile round trip. Which offer should we take, how many people do we need, and what's our promo plan? Also check our caption before we post it.

    Summary

Take "80% door after $150". At 70 people it pays the band $636.68 net ($159.17 each), compared with $483.67 for $200 vs 70% and $272.55 for the flat $300.

    • Break-even: the door deal needs 26 people. The flat and versus offers cover your $144 costs (travel $54 + fixed $90) at any turnout.
    • Crossover: the door deal beats the flat $300 from 42 people up, and the versus deal from 51. Your usual 70 is well above both. Below 42 people, the flat $300 is the safer pick.
    • Merch at 70 people: 17 units, $183 gross, $116.55 net after goods and card fees.
    • Caption check:

5 FAIL. Nov 14, 2026 is a Saturday, not "Fri". Doors say 7:30 but the plan says 7 PM. "$20 at the door" should be $18. "18+" should be 21+. "Set times TBA" is still in it. The poster passes all checks.

    Deliverable

    • Scenario table for 30/50/70/100/150 people (best offer at 70 and up is the door deal; at 30 it's the flat $300)
    • Promo countdown: 37 days to go, 17 dated steps from Sat Oct 10 (lock details) to Mon Nov 16 (log results), saved as promo.ics (18 events, including the show at 7-11:30 PM CT), promo.csv and promo.md
    • A corrected caption, re-checked with show_check.py

    Next steps

    1. Get the door deal terms in writing, including what counts as the $150 and whether fees come off the top.
    2. Import promo.ics and post the announcement on Oct 17.
    3. On show night, run the settlement with the real counts. For example, 61 advance + 26 door with $260 actual expenses under $200 vs 70% works out to a $779.55 payout and $896.22 band net ($224.05 each).

    About this skill

Know which gig offer pays more before you say yes, then fill the room.

live show promo and payout planner gives your AI agent working scripts for the business side of a local show. Describe your offers, costs, ticket prices and merch once in a simple show file. The agent then tells you what each offer actually puts in your pocket at every turnout, how many people you need to break even, and when a door deal beats the guarantee. It builds a dated promo countdown you can import into your calendar, catches poster and caption mistakes before they go out, and walks you through the settlement on show night.

    What it does

    • Offer comparison: flat guarantee, door split after house expenses, "guarantee versus percentage", guarantee plus a bonus, and bar deals. Shows band net after commission, merch and travel at every attendance level, marks the best offer at each, and splits the money per member (equal or custom shares).
    • Break-even and crossover: the turnout where each offer covers your costs, and the turnout where a split deal starts paying more than the guarantee. Fields you left blank are listed, so nothing defaults to zero silently.
    • Real ticket math: advance vs door sales, different door price, buyer fees, absorbed platform fees, door card fees, sales tax included in the price, comps, and splitting the artist side with other acts.
    • Merch estimate: per-item price, cost and attach rate, plus card share, card fees and venue cut.
    • Promo countdown: a 17-step plan from T-35 (lock details) through announce, list email, partner shares, content pushes, local calendars and radio, poster run, ticket check against break-even, set times, logistics, show day and two follow-ups. Outdoor shows get weather steps. If you start late, overdue steps move to today. Exports .ics (RFC 5545, imports into Google, Apple or Outlook calendars), .csv and .md.
    • Poster and caption proofreader: checks your copy against the plan: wrong weekday for the date, doors time, prices, age policy, leftover TBA/TBD/XX, missing venue, ticket link or act names. Also checks the plan itself for overlapping sets, too-short changeovers, a last set past curfew, door price below advance, and expected turnout over capacity.
    • Show-night settlement: gross, fees, net box office, the deal math written out, artist payout, merch net, band costs, band net and each member's share, plus a reminder of the paperwork to ask for before you sign.

    Problems it solves

    • Taking a flat $300 when the door deal would have paid twice that, or taking a door deal on a slow night
    • Not knowing how many tickets you need to sell to cover gas, food and promo
    • Promo that starts a week out and happens in random bursts
    • Posting "Fri Nov 14" when the 14th is a Saturday, or a door price that doesn't match the ticket page
    • Show-night settlements you can't check on the spot

    Who it's for

Independent musicians, bands, DJs and comedians who book their own local and regional shows, plus the managers and small promoters who help them.
