    Example session with this skill installed

    Add Liquid Glass styling to a SwiftUI Save button while keeping support for iOS 18. Use public APIs, preserve the save action, and explain the version checks and what I should test.

    Keep iOS 18 support

    Use the native glass button styles on supported iOS versions and a bordered button on older versions. Keep the same label and action in every branch. You do not need to raise the deployment target to iOS 26.

    import SwiftUI

    struct SaveButton: View {
        let save: () -> Void

        var body: some View {
            if #available(iOS 26.1, *) {
                Button("Save", action: save)
                    .buttonStyle(GlassButtonStyle(.regular))
            } else if #available(iOS 26.0, *) {
                Button("Save", action: save)
                    .buttonStyle(.glass)
            } else {
                Button("Save", action: save)
                    .buttonStyle(.bordered)
            }
        }
    }

    Why the branches differ

    Running iOSButton style
    26.1 or laterGlassButtonStyle with an explicit Glass configuration
    26.0Standard glass button style
    18 through 25Bordered fallback

    The configured initializer requires iOS 26.1; the standard glass style starts at iOS 26.0. The fallback preserves the action and label, without trying to reproduce Liquid Glass with blur or gradients.

    SDK and deployment target

    The SDK must know the newer APIs even when they appear inside an availability check. A deployment target of iOS 18 can still be kept when building with a supporting SDK.

    Validation and next steps

    This illustrative example passed Swift type checking with the iOS 26.4 simulator SDK and an iOS 18 deployment target. Rendering and accessibility have not been runtime-tested for this listing.

    Run the app on representative supported OS versions. Check that Save invokes the expected action, the enabled/disabled state works, VoiceOver announces the button correctly, and large text and contrast settings remain usable. Integrate the component into the actual screen before evaluating its appearance.

    About this skill

    Liquid Glass for iOS

    Build and update native iOS interfaces with guidance for SwiftUI and UIKit. Use this skill when adding Liquid Glass, migrating an existing screen, reviewing an implementation, or investigating unexpected behavior.

    What you can use it for

    • Choose between standard system controls and custom glass effects.
    • Work with navigation bars, toolbars, tabs, search, sheets, and scroll edges.
    • Implement custom shapes, grouped effects, and transitions.
    • Review accessibility, visual hierarchy, state updates, and performance concerns.
    • Keep support for older iOS versions with API availability checks and fallbacks.

    What is included

    SKILL.md selects the relevant guide for your task. Nine focused reference guides cover SwiftUI, UIKit, design and accessibility, compatibility, and diagnosis. They include short Swift examples and links to primary sources. The package also includes LICENSE and NOTICE.

    How to use it

    Give your agent the relevant screen or code and describe your goal. Include your framework, Xcode/SDK version, deployment target, and running iOS version when they matter. The skill helps the agent choose the appropriate references and distinguish documented behavior from compiler checks and runtime observations.

    Compatibility

    Provided for Claude Code and Codex in the SKILL.md format. Covers native iOS with SwiftUI and UIKit. Other Apple platforms and web implementations are outside this edition. Apple Docs MCP and binary inspection tools are optional; no executable files, MCP servers, or hooks are bundled. Build and runtime checks depend on your environment.
