Korean Performance Finder (ArtBridge MCP)

Teaches your AI agent how to find live performances in South Korea with the ArtBridge MCP server, which queries KOPIS (the Korean performing arts information network). It covers when to call each tool, how to turn natural requests into genre, region and date parameters, how to present results, and what to do when something goes wrong.

What it does

• Search by genre, region and date: plays, musicals, classical, gukak, dance, concerts, circus and magic, by city or district.
• Popular and closing-soon shows: ranked picks from KOPIS data, with days left when a show closes within 14 days.
• Free or cheap shows: free and low-price events in the next 30 days.
• Show details: cast, ticket prices, running time, age limit, synopsis and booking links for a chosen show.

What is inside

• A tool-by-tool guide with exact parameters (get_genre_list, search_events_by_location, filter_free_events, get_trending_performances, get_event_detail)
• Date handling rules for "this weekend", "next week" and similar phrases
• Result presentation rules, including telling the user when the server relaxed their conditions
• Error handling for a missing API key, no results, unknown show IDs and truncated output
• Full genre, province and district code tables, setup notes and example requests

Requirements

The ArtBridge MCP server must be connected to your agent. The hosted endpoint is https://art-bridge.onrender.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP) and needs no API key. To self-host you need Node.js 20+ and your own KOPIS API key. The server is open source (MIT): https://github.com/htjworld/art-bridge. This listing is the usage guide for it.

Limitations

It does not buy tickets or check seat availability, and it does not cover movies, sports or overseas shows. Free-show search always covers today through 30 days ahead. Schedules come from KOPIS through the server and may be cached, so confirm on the booking page before going.
