Works with the AI Agents you already use
jujutsu
Lets coding agents work in Jujutsu (jj) repositories through the jujutsu-mcp tools, without git commands or a shell.

Example session with this skill installed
I changed the timeout and added a retry setting in app.py, and started some notes in notes.md. Please commit those as two separate commits, bring my work up to date with what's on origin, and get it ready to push as a branch called feature-x so I can open a PR. I haven't approved the actual push yet.
- Read your context and instructions
- Compiled the jujutsu
Summary
Your work is two commits on top of the updated origin/main, with the bookmark feature-x on the tip. Nothing has been pushed.
What happened
| Step | Tool | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Commit app.py | commit (paths: app.py) | tswqontr |
| Commit notes.md | commit (paths: notes.md) | rvktuxvx |
| Update from origin | git_fetch, rebase onto trunk() | conflict in app.py |
| Resolve | new, edit, squash, edit back | conflict gone, history straight |
| Bookmark | bookmark_set feature-x on rvktuxvx | created |
| Push preview | git_push with dry_run | commits to sign: 2 |
Needs your decision
Conflict on TIMEOUT: upstream already raised it to 60 ("slow networks"); you had 45. I kept 60 plus your RETRIES = 3, and reworded the first commit to feat: add retry setting, since it no longer changes the timeout. Do you want 45 instead?
debug.log was in your working copy but not in your request. I kept it out of both commits and it is still in @. Should I ignore it, delete it, or leave it?
Current state
@ qzlurxkm (debug.log only, not part of the branch)
○ rvktuxvx docs: start notes on retry policy feature-x
○ tswqontr feat: add retry setting
◆ wopqqtll fix: raise timeout main
Next steps
The push will sign 2 commits, so expect up to 2 security-key touches. Approve it and I'll push feature-x; then open the PR with gh pr create --head feature-x.

About this skill
Coding agents are trained on git. Put one in a Jujutsu (jj) repository and it reaches for git add, opens an editor that never closes, or pushes the wrong commit. This skill teaches the agent to work through the jujutsu-mcp server instead: one typed tool per jj operation, and nothing that can hang waiting for input.
What it does
- Detects jj repositories (
.jj) and keeps git read-only, with a table that maps each git reflex (add, commit, stash, checkout, pull, push) to the right jj tool. - Commits and reshapes history by change id: separate commits, split, squash, rebase, edit an older commit, keeping stray files (logs, build output) out of what gets committed.
- Syncs with the remote: fetches, rebases onto trunk, resolves conflicts the jj way and returns the history to a straight line. Semantic conflicts (both sides changed the same value) go to you.
- Prepares pushes safely: points the bookmark at the real tip of the work, runs a dry run first and tells you how many commits will be signed, one security-key touch each.
- Undoes mistakes through jj's operation log.
Loads only what the task needs
SKILL.md is a short router. Each action has its own reference file (commit, reshape, sync, recover, setup, tools), and the agent reads one only when it performs that action.
Requirements
- jj 0.45.1 or newer.
- The jujutsu-mcp server, free and open source (MIT or Apache-2.0):
brew install LLawli/tap/jujutsu-mcporcargo install jujutsu-mcp, thenjujutsu-mcp setupto register it in Claude Code, Codex and Antigravity.
If the server is missing, the skill walks the agent through installing it, asking you first.
Tested
Run end to end by an agent on a scenario with a stray file, two separate commits, a conflict with origin and push preparation. It loaded 3 of the 6 references, kept the stray file out, resolved the conflict, left a straight history and stopped at the dry run. That session is the demo on this page.
How to use
Skills on Agensi run inside your AI agent. Copy the prompt, paste it into your agent, and it connects to Agensi and installs this skill for you. If a payment is needed, your agent shows it to you first.
