iPhone Duo Vertical Bars

On the outer display of iPhone Duo, and on the inner display in landscape, controls from the top and bottom bars move to the side. This skill audits your bars screen by screen and adapts them to the vertical layout.

What it does

• Checks containers: only bars in a navigation or tab container take part. The scanner finds standalone UIToolbar and UINavigationBar instances.
• Fixes the order: back or close first, then prominent actions such as Done or Save.
• Checks titles and symbols: every item needs both, even when only the symbol shows.
• Sets the axis: items that change shape stay horizontal. Custom views get a fixed width or a vertical layout.
• Cleans up overflow: one overflow menu with ToolbarOverflowMenu, and visibilityPriority on groups and items.
• Sets compression: the toolbar or the tab bar compresses first, for the type of screen.
• Handles sheets: presentationPlacement on the inner display and vertical toolbars on the outer display.
• Tells you when to opt out: single-page, bottom-heavy layouts can use toolbarVerticalBehavior.

2. It writes recommendations. Each one cites the Apple session it comes from.
3. You approve each change. The skill applies it and builds.

Works with

SwiftUI (.toolbar in NavigationStack or NavigationSplitView) and UIKit (UINavigationController, UITabBarController). Titles, symbols, badges, placements, visibilityPriority and ToolbarOverflowMenu compile today. axisBehavior, toolbarVerticalEdge, compression behavior and the opt-out need the iOS 27.1 SDK.
