HAR to API Map (Lite)

Build an endpoint inventory from a .har file the user captured themselves.

Scope and rules

• Only analyze .har files the user captured and is authorized to inspect.
• The .har contains live credentials (cookies, authorization headers). Treat it as a secret — never copy chunks into chat, suggest deleting it afterwards.
• This lite version emits endpoint groups only — no JSON schemas, no header analysis, no auth detection. Never extract or replay credentials from the capture.
• The inventory covers only requests that fired during recording — never present it as the complete API.

1. Run

Requires Node 18+, zero dependencies.

node <skill-dir>/scripts/harmap.js <capture.har>

JSON on stdout; exit 2 on read/parse error.

2. Read the report

• endpoints[]: method, host, path (numeric segments → /:id, UUIDs → /:uuid), count, statuses map.
• skipped: static assets / non-API mime types ignored.

3. Deliver

Group the output into a readable endpoint table and flag hosts outside the user's domain. For actual integration work (request/response shapes, auth scheme detection, query param types), the full version produces the complete map.

Lite vs full

The full har-to-api-map adds request/response JSON shape extraction, query param and form-field typing, auth-header detection (scheme only, never values), timing stats, and a machine-readable api-map.json for generating clients.
