- Read your context and instructions
- Compiled the gsc history warehouse
Summary
Synced sc-domain:example.com into gsc.db (SYNTHETIC fixture data from the bundled mock API, not a real site): 484 days, 36,210 rows, 969 API requests. Decay report as of 2026-10-20, each page compared with its own peak month.
| page | peak_month | peak_clicks | now_30d | vs_peak_pct | action |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| /tools/serp-checker | 2025-07 | 714 | 23.6 | -96.7 | REFRESH |
| /blog/keyword-research-guide | 2025-07 | 547 | 97.5 | -82.2 | REFRESH |
| /blog/holiday-gift-guide | 2025-12 | 516 | 301.1 | -41.7 | WATCH |
| /pricing | 2026-07 | 540 | 496.1 | -8.1 | OK |
The holiday guide is flat year over year (+0.4%), so it is seasonal, not decaying. The two REFRESH pages dropped more than 80% against their peak and also lost clicks year over year.
Next steps
- Refresh /tools/serp-checker and /blog/keyword-research-guide first
- Run the lost-queries report on those two pages
- Schedule the sync daily with the bundled cron recipe so history keeps growing
Connects securely to your tools. The creator never sees your data.
About this skill

Unlike Search Console analysts that only read the live 16-month window, this skill keeps every day in a SQLite file you own, so YoY, decay and lost-query reports keep working after Google deletes the data.
Google Search Console deletes performance data after 16 months. A one-time CSV export holds only 1,000 rows, and BigQuery bulk export needs a Cloud billing account and starts from the day you switch it on. This skill uses the free Search Console API to back up every day (query, page, country, device) into one local SQLite file. It adds new days on each run and answers the questions that need long history.
What you get
- scripts/gsc_warehouse.py with init, sync, status, report and sql commands. With a gcloud access token it needs only the Python standard library. Service account and OAuth use the official google-auth library.
- Incremental daily sync. It fetches missing days, re-fetches the newest 3 (GSC revises them) and dedupes with a primary key, so re-runs never double count. It pages with startRow and retries 429/5xx with backoff.
- gsc_daily_totals (date-only totals that match the GSC chart, anonymized queries included) next to row-level data, and status shows the gap.
- 5 SQL reports: yoy (by page, same weekdays a year earlier), decay (now vs the page's own peak month → REFRESH / WATCH / OK), lost-queries, monthly, top-pages. 6 more ad-hoc queries in sql/examples.sql.
- Cron, systemd and Windows Task Scheduler recipes, plus a 5-minute auth setup guide.
- 14 tests that run against a bundled mock API, so no Google account is needed to try it.
Sample (SYNTHETIC fixture data: the script's real output against the bundled mock API, not a real site) $ gsc_warehouse.py sync ... → synced 484 day(s), 36210 rows, 969 API requests report decay (as of 2026-10-20): | page | peak_month | peak_clicks | now_30d | vs_peak_pct | action | | /tools/serp-checker | 2025-07 | 714 | 23.6 | -96.7 | REFRESH | | /blog/keyword-research-guide | 2025-07 | 547 | 97.5 | -82.2 | REFRESH | | /blog/holiday-gift-guide | 2025-12 | 516 | 301.1 | -41.7 | WATCH | | /pricing | 2026-07 | 540 | 496.1 | -8.1 | OK | In yoy, the holiday guide is flat (+0.4%). It is seasonal, not decaying, and the workflow checks this before it calls a drop decay.
