Flaky tests usually share a handful of causes: waiting on time, depending on the clock, randomness, the network, shared ports or paths, and hidden order dependence. This finds those spots so the user fixes causes instead of adding retries.
A repo or test folder. It reads test_*.py, *_test.py, conftest.py, and *.test.* / *.spec.* JS/TS files; skips node_modules, virtualenvs and build output. Add # flaky-ok on a line to silence a reviewed hit.
This skill bundles one standard-library Python file, scripts/flaky_test_scan.py (sha256 d0a8cf1954a9cef29acffb0fc00c670f6fcc50a1d5cc42f1a9e96e32c5358693). If it is not already on disk:
- Write the bundled script text verbatim to a temp file outside the user's project, e.g.
T=$(mktemp --suffix=.py). - Check
sha256sum "$T"equalsd0a8cf1954a9cef29acffb0fc00c670f6fcc50a1d5cc42f1a9e96e32c5358693. If it differs, rewrite it; never edit it. - Run
python3 "$T" "/path/to/repo" [--min-sleep 100] [--json]with each user path as a separately quoted argument. - Delete the temp file. Do not save the script into the project.
