Explainer Video Studio — Topic to Captioned MP4
Example session with this skill installed
Use Explainer Video Studio to plan a 3-scene illustrated explainer about how a solar cell turns sunlight into electricity. Assume the viewer has never studied electronics. Use the default editorial style. Give me the full narration, scene directions and reveal beats. Plan only; do not generate images or audio yet.
- Read your context and instructions
- Compiled the explainer video studio
Planning example: sunlight to current
Mode: plan only. No images, narration audio or MP4 were generated for this example, and no media API spend was incurred.
Opening question: How does light become an electric current?
Audience: curious beginners.
Story spine: follow an energy transfer into a cell, then follow directed charge through a connected circuit.
Visual motif: the same warm light ray and dark-ink circuit return in each scene.
Complete narration
Scene 1 — A panel has a smaller starting point
A solar panel looks like a single flat surface, but it contains smaller units called solar cells. To understand how the panel makes electricity, follow sunlight into one of those cells.
Scene 2 — Light supplies energy
When the cell absorbs energy from sunlight, electrical charges become available to move. An internal electric field directs that movement. The cell is converting incoming light energy into electrical energy.
Scene 3 — A circuit gives the current a path
Connect the cell into a circuit, and moving charge can carry energy to an electrical load. That is the useful change: light reaching a material becomes an electric current in a connected path. The panel is generating electricity; the light itself is not travelling down the wire.
Scene directions
| Scene | Visual explanation | Editable text | Reveal beats |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | A roof panel expands into a single cell; keep the same cell silhouette in later scenes | Start with one cell | Reveal panel; highlight cell; zoom into its boundary |
| 2 | A simplified cell cutaway receives the warm ray; charge markers move along one clearly indicated direction | Light supplies energy | Bring in the ray; reveal charge markers; draw field direction |
| 3 | Extend the cell into a closed external circuit with a small load; animate charge markers around the path | A path for current | Close the circuit; reveal current direction; highlight the load |
Production notes
Cream background, dark ink, warm orange and cool blue accents. Reserve the upper-left title area and lower caption band. Draw exact labels and arrows later as editable overlays. Charge markers are an explanatory diagram, not a literal microscopic simulation.
Timing remains
estimated_pre_audio. Reveal timestamps remain unset until narration is generated and measured. This example is about photovoltaic cells, not solar-thermal power.

Next step: choose supplied artwork/audio or approve the production providers and budget. A storyboard plan is not a finished video.
Connects securely to your tools. The creator never sees your data.
About this skill
Your agent can write a script. Give it the rest of the production.
Explainer Video Studio takes a topic, article or script through a complete illustrated-video workflow: a clear story, a consistent storyboard, scene-by-scene narration, editable motion graphics, captions and an MP4 you can keep working on.
Built for creators, educators and founders who want to explain something properly without rebuilding the production process every time.
What you get
- A story before a slideshow. The workflow finds the central question, builds a causal sequence and gives the explanation a turning point and payoff.
- Consistent illustrated scenes. A 3–6-scene contact sheet, a shared visual style and local geometry tools keep panels organised.
- Editable words and diagrams. Titles, labels, arrows, equations and shapes are rendered as overlays instead of trusting an image model to spell them.
- Narration that drives the timeline. One voice clip per scene, measured durations and captions aligned after the audio is final. Proportional timing is disclosed if word alignment is unavailable.
- A project you can revise. Remotion source, storyboard, narration, captions and timings stay with the finished video. Fix a label or one voice clip without starting again.
- Setup and recovery guidance. A read-only dependency checker, a worked planning example, capability checks and instructions for resuming failed stages.
Start with a plan, spend when you are ready
Ask for a plan first to get the story, narration and visual directions without paid media calls. Full production uses your own image/voice tools or supplied assets, then the included local rendering tools. The default visual direction is warm editorial paper-collage; you can request another style.
Read this before buying
This is a workflow and toolkit for a coding agent, not a hosted video app. Rendering needs filesystem and terminal access, access to the package resources, Node/npm, Python, FFmpeg/FFprobe and a Remotion-compatible browser. Your agent needs image and narration tools, or you can supply those assets yourself.
API credits, agent subscriptions, hosting and hands-on installation are not included. The optional media MCP source needs your own configuration and credentials. Cross-agent production depends on the tools your agent exposes; it has not been independently certified across every agent.
From the original builder
I built the original explainer-video project and packaged this standalone edition with portable orchestration, setup checks and recovery guidance. The underlying project is public and MIT licensed: https://github.com/Fardeen26/explainer-video. You are buying this distribution and its additional workflow resources, not exclusive access to the public code.
$9 once. Your own tools. Editable output.
