What this does not establish
This fixture is deliberately small. It is not a completed ebook and was not presented as passing EPUBCheck or Amazon KDP review. For a production book, the next steps are to compare the EPUB against its approved manuscript, run EPUBCheck on the finished file, inspect the layout at different text sizes in an EPUB reader, and review the converted book in Kindle Previewer if KDP is the destination. Report each result only after performing that check.

About this skill
EPUB-Create is an open-source skill that guides an AI agent through creating, refining, and checking reflowable EPUB ebooks from approved manuscripts or existing EPUBs. It is intended for editors, publishers, and authors who need to preserve the source text while improving ebook structure and presentation.
The workflow covers chapter structure, clickable navigation, notes, typography, accessibility, packaging, and visual review. It includes local Python helpers for EPUB package checks, editorial audits, and optional Roman-numeral styling. The agent uses conversion and validation tools available in the user's environment; EPUBCheck and Kindle Previewer are separate tools.
Before making changes, the skill asks the agent to identify the approved text, visual references, editorial choices, and rights to fonts or other assets. It preserves originals and reports which checks were actually performed.
