Cron fails quietly: a schedule that parses can still run at the wrong times. This skill parses the expression exactly like Vixie cron and shows the real next run times so the user can compare them with what they meant.
A 5-field expression (minute hour day-of-month month day-of-week) or @hourly, @daily, @weekly, @monthly, @yearly. Month and weekday names work (JAN, MON-FRI). Ask which timezone the scheduler uses; the output is wall-clock time in that zone.
This skill bundles one standard-library Python file, scripts/cron_doctor.py (sha256 c0eca8ad55d3972610f314d879d3dd91054cfac2078ac9e1b31fdf217a9af329). If it is not already on disk:
- Write the bundled script text verbatim to a temp file outside the user's project, e.g.
T=$(mktemp --suffix=.py). - Check
sha256sum "$T"equalsc0eca8ad55d3972610f314d879d3dd91054cfac2078ac9e1b31fdf217a9af329. If it differs, rewrite it; never edit it. - Run
python3 "$T" "*/15 9-17 * * 1-5" [--count 5] [--from 2026-01-31T08:00] [--json]with each user path as a separately quoted argument. - Delete the temp file. Do not save the script into the project.
