Rules
- identify duplicate people even when names contain minor typos;
- prefer exact work email, phone, or LinkedIn evidence;
- do not merge two contacts solely because their names are similar;
- prefer corporate email over Gmail/Yahoo when the identity is supported;
- keep the most complete company and name fields;
- fill blank phone/title/company fields from absorbed duplicates;
- preserve every original contact ID;
- block auto-merge when work emails or LinkedIn profiles conflict;
- create a full merge changelog and a manual review queue.

Conservative by design
The workflow is intentionally biased against false-positive merges.
Name similarity alone is never enough to merge two contacts.
