Scenario 1: spreadsheet request

A colleague asks for a customer export by email. Learner checks authorization, purpose, secure transfer method and minimum required fields before sharing.

Scenario 2: misdirected message

A customer receives another person’s information. Learner stops further sharing, preserves relevant evidence and reports through the company incident path promptly.

Key behaviors

Use approved tools, verify recipients, avoid local copies, follow retention rules and never paste sensitive data into unapproved services.

Practice and feedback

Ask learners to choose an action and explain why. Provide feedback linked to the approved policy, not generic legal claims.

Escalation

Show the exact internal contact and incident channel. State that employees should not investigate or notify external parties on their own.

Governance

Have privacy/security owners validate all content, date it, track completion and update after policy changes.

Measurement and review

Record the baseline, source, date range, denominator and owner. Use one primary measure plus quality guardrails; compare like-for-like cohorts and disclose missing data. Treat estimates as scenarios, not observed outcomes.

Risks and controls

Check relevance, consent, disclosure, workload and downside before scaling. Keep an evidence trail, obtain human review for material commitments, and pause if trust, quality or compliance signals deteriorate.
