    Clarify Intent

Example session with this skill installed

    Help me build a website.

    • Read your context and instructions
    • Compiled the clarify intent

Sure. Before I start, I’ll check any project files and conventions you’ve already shared so I don’t ask for details I can discover myself.

One choice will change the scope most: What should visitors be able to do on the site?

    A.

Read about a project or service — a straightforward landing page with sections and links, without accounts or saved data.

    B.

Complete an action — for example, contact you, book an appointment, sign in, or save information. We can narrow down the exact action after setting the overall scope.

    C. I’m not sure; choose for me — I’ll inspect the existing project and suggest the smallest useful first version.

Reply with A, B, or C. You don’t need to choose a framework or deployment setup yet; I’ll use existing project conventions and safe defaults where they fit. After your choice, I’ll outline a short plan and begin. Before any step that publishes the site publicly, spends money, deletes data, or changes production, I’ll pause and explain its impact so you can decide.

Connects securely to your tools. The creator never sees your data.

    About this skill

Clarify Intent helps an AI assistant decide how to move forward when a request is vague, has several plausible meanings, or carries real risk. It avoids both guesswork that sends work in the wrong direction and unnecessary clarification that slows clear, low-risk tasks.

    How it works

    1. Check the conversation, files, project conventions, configuration, and available tools before asking.
    2. Choose the smallest useful response: proceed when intent is clear; state a safe assumption for minor, reversible uncertainty; ask one high-value question when the answer changes the result; or request explicit confirmation before high-impact actions.
    3. Use plain language and concrete, outcome-based options, including a “you decide for me” path when helpful.

The bundled reference guides cover coding, writing, research, data, decision-making, and general tasks.

This is an intent-alignment guide for compatible SKILL.md agents. It does not perform technical work by itself; the agent still uses its own tools and verifies facts.
