Bug Reproduction Receipt — CI & Flaky Tests

Observed synthetic fixture result; no production service or customer data was used.

Before: python3 check_slug.py broken_slug exited 1 with “FAIL: whitespace-only input produced an empty slug.” The test called slug(" ") and expected ValueError. The fixture's empty guard ran before whitespace was stripped, so a nonempty string containing only spaces passed the guard and became an empty slug. The exact failure was reproduced in the local fixture.

Candidate change: strip the input first, reject the cleaned empty value, then build the slug from cleaned text. After: python3 check_slug.py fixed_slug exited 0 with “PASS: whitespace-only input is rejected”; the ordinary “Local Events” case still returned “local-events.” The same check was rerun against separate broken_slug.py and fixed_slug.py demonstration files. Verdict: reproduced in this fixture; candidate verified on this case. The receipt does not claim a production patch, a CI run, a broader regression suite, or a measured flaky failure rate.
