    Base Dormant Address Map - 258 Door-Tested

Example session with this skill installed

I want to hunt for stranded funds on Base. I have a list of old contracts and I keep convincing myself that some of them are claimable. How do I check properly, and what is the trap I am probably falling into?

    Summary

Your candidates fall into three classes, and only one of them is a real door. Here is the map and the test behind it.

The classes (258 dormant addresses checked)

    VerdictCountWhat it means
no door258No withdrawal-shaped call answers from an anonymous caller
trap32The contract answers ANY signature: everything is noise
looked like money7A claim call answered, the fork test showed it moves nothing

The trap you are probably in

You call claim(), withdraw(), sweep() and you get a return value, so you believe there is a function. Run the control instead:

    cast call $A "zZfuncionInventadaQq()" --from 0x...dEaD --rpc-url https://mainnet.base.org

If the invented name also responds, the contract has a permissive fallback and every answer you collected is empty noise. That single check removes 32 candidates in this dataset.

    Next steps

    1. Filter data/dormidos.csv by balance and take the ones above your threshold.
    2. Re-run the door test yourself against the live chain before believing the snapshot.
    3. For anything that answers, clone the chain (anvil --fork-url) and execute the withdrawal: if the balance does not go down, it is not money.
    4. Report the map, never the hope: dormant with a closed door pays nobody.

    What you get

    About this skill

Most money-hunting tools find balances and stop there. That is where they go wrong.

This skill ships a curated map of Base mainnet addresses that hold ETH and have not moved for a year or more, and for each one the result of a door test run from an anonymous address: does any withdrawal-shaped call answer, and does it survive a fork simulation.

    What is inside

    • 995 addresses analysed, 258 dormant with a balance, 125 of them holding 0.05 ETH or more, 230.94 ETH quiet in total.
    • data/dormidos.csv: address, balance, last activity, days quiet and verdict.
    • references/METHOD.md: the exact commands, including the invented-function control and the fork test.

    The three verdicts

    • dormido_sin_puerta_abierta (258): no withdrawal call answers. There is no door.
    • acepta_cualquier_llamada (32): the contract answers ANY signature, including an invented function name. Everything it returns is noise. This is the class most tools get wrong.
    • PUERTA_DORMIDA (7): a claim-shaped call did answer, and the fork test showed it completes nothing. Looks like money, is not.

    Honest limits

It is a map, not a promise: dormant with a closed door means nobody can withdraw it, including us. Base mainnet and ETH balances only. The largest balances are mostly protocol contracts where the funds rest by design.
