Example session with this skill installed
I have a 30% margin on my water bottle and I'm in the profit phase. Here is my Search Term Report. Please optimize my bids and find negatives.
- Read your context and instructions
- Compiled the amazon ads optimizer
- Generated the data export
I have processed the Search Term Report for the period of Oct 01 to Oct 30. Based on your 30% margin and profit phase, I have set a target ACoS of 24% (80% of margin).
Note: The report includes data from the last 7 days. These rows likely have under-reported sales due to Amazon's attribution lag; I have applied a conservative filter to these dates.
Weekly Amazon Ads actions — Water Bottle — Oct 01-Oct 30
Target ACoS 24% (derived from 30% margin, profit phase). Account ACoS this window 31.2%.
1. Negatives (3 terms, ~$48 wasted spend/period)
| Campaign | Search term | Clicks | Spend | Action |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SP_Auto_Bottle | "plastic cups" | 16 | $18.40 | Negative Exact |
| SP_Broad_Bottle | "gym accessories" | 14 | $21.50 | Negative Exact |
| SP_Exact_Bottle | "blue water bottle" | 19 | $8.20 | Pause Keyword (Own Target) |
2. Harvest to exact (2 terms, 9 orders at 18% avg)
| Source campaign | Search term | Orders | ACoS | Suggested exact bid |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SP_Auto_Bottle | "insulated flask 32oz" | 5 | 17% | $1.15 |
| SP_Broad_Bottle | "leakproof sports bottle" | 4 | 19% | $0.98 |

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SP_Exact | "vacuum bottle" | Exact | 14% | $1.00 | $1.25 | +25% | High ROAS headroom |
| SP_Exact | "metal bottle" | Exact | 42% | $1.50 | $1.13 | -25% | ACoS > Target |
| SP_Auto | Substitutes | Auto | 65% | $0.80 | $0.60 | -25% | Efficiency cut |
4. Bulk upload
To apply these changes
- Download a "Bulk Operations" spreadsheet from the Amazon Advertising console.
- Filter for "Keywords" and "Product Targeting".
- Update the
Bidcolumn for the 16 rows identified above. - Add new rows for the 3 Negatives and 2 Harvested keywords using the
negativeExactandexactmatch types respectively. - Save as CSV and upload.
Summary
Blocking three zero-order terms will recover approximately $48 in monthly wasted spend. The two harvests move high-converting traffic into Exact match where we can defend the slot more aggressively. The 16 bid adjustments are designed to pull the overall account ACoS from 31% down toward your 24% target without triggering a re-learning phase.
Next steps
- Verify the current bids in the console before uploading the bulk sheet, as these were derived from average CPC.
- Check your inventory levels for the "insulated flask" to ensure you can handle increased volume from the bid raise.
- Re-run this audit in 14 days to see the impact once the attribution window closes.

What you get
About this skill
The problem
Amazon PPC reports are bloated with noise. Sellers often waste hours manually filtering search term reports or making emotional bid adjustments that ignore attribution lag and statistical significance.
What it does
- Derives target ACoS based on net margin, product fees, and growth phase.
- Identifies bleeding search terms for negative matching using a strict 12-click/0-order significance threshold.
- Harvests high-performing search terms from Auto, Broad, and Phrase campaigns into controlled Exact match targets.
- Calculates proportional bid adjustments capped at 25% to stay within the Amazon algorithm's learning phase.
- Reallocates budget from capped-out, underperforming campaigns to high-ROAS campaigns hitting their limits.
Frameworks & tools
Amazon Advertising Console, CSV report exports (Search Term, Campaign, and Placement), and python3 for local data processing.
Why this beats prompting it yourself
Standard LLMs often hallucinate bid math or ignore Amazon's 7-14 day attribution lag, leading to premature campaign cuts. This skill applies hard-coded logic for data sufficiency, ensuring you never pause a keyword just because of a temporary reporting delay.
Use cases
- Executing a weekly PPC maintenance routine in under 20 minutes.
- Auditing a new account to find immediate "quick win" spend reductions.
- Transitioning a product from a break-even launch phase to a 20% profit margin phase.
- Cleaning up Auto campaigns by moving proven winners into an Exact match structure.
Known limitations
Does not connect to the Amazon Ads API. Requires manual export of CSV reports. Not calibrated for extreme high-ticket items with conversion rates below 2%.
