I am adding a tool named create_order. It charges a saved card. Review the contract before I ship it.

- Goal: review a tool that charges a saved card before it ships.

Tool contract
- Name:
create_order - Side effect: money. Say that in the description.
- Required: amount, currency, customer id, and an idempotency key supplied by the caller.
- Errors the agent can branch on: declined, duplicate key, approval required. Do not return a stack trace as the contract.
- Idempotency: the same key returns the original order. A retry must not charge twice.
- Human approval: required before the charge is captured. The person sees the amount, currency, and customer.

About this skill
Agent tool design is prone to scope creep and breaking changes. This skill pack provides nine specific modules to manage the interface between AI agents and the systems they control. It focuses on tool schemas, MCP (Model Context Protocol) contracts, and safety gates for side-effect heavy operations.
What it does
- Design tool schemas for JSON-based function calling and MCP implementations.
- Review breaking changes when tool signatures or return types change to prevent agent failure.
- Implement safety gates by defining human-in-the-loop approval requirements for high-risk actions.
- Audit MCP surfaces to evaluate existing tool lists for redundancy or security risks.
- Standardize idempotency to handle retries and prevent duplicate side effects in agent workflows.
How it works
- Identify the intent, such as designing a new tool or reviewing a breaking change.
- Select the specific module from the nine available sub-skills to minimize context overhead.
- Provide the schema or contract for the agent to analyze against the selected module's criteria.
- Iterate on the contract based on the agent's feedback on permissions, safety, or structure.
Frameworks & tools
This skill is designed for the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and standard JSON tool calling schemas. It supports any agent framework utilizing function calling, including LangChain, CrewAI, and native OpenAI or Anthropic tool implementations.
Why this beats prompting it yourself
Writing tool schemas by hand often leads to agents hallucinating parameters or failing to handle retries. This skill enforces strict architectural standards for idempotency and permissioning that generic prompts miss.
Use cases
- Drafting a new MCP server tool list for a database connector.
- Auditing a production agent for dangerous tools that lack human approval gates.
- Deciding whether a capability should be a prompt-based skill or a hardcoded MCP tool.
- Creating a permission matrix for multi-agent systems with shared tool access.
Known limitations
Does not support HTTP API or OpenAPI specification changes. It cannot scaffold new MCP server boilerplate or write the underlying server-side implementation code.
How to use
Skills on Agensi run inside your AI agent. Copy the prompt, paste it into your agent, and it connects to Agensi and installs this skill for you. If a payment is needed, your agent shows it to you first.
