Refactor the authentication middleware to use JWT bearer tokens across src/auth.rs, src/routes.rs, and tests/auth_test.rs, using agent-2pc to ensure transactional safety.

About this skill
Stop AI Agents From Leaving Broken Repositories
When autonomous coding assistants (such as Claude Code, Cursor, Hermes Agent, and Copilot) execute multi-file refactoring or shell commands, failures at steps 3 or 4 can be catastrophic:
- Models may attempt a “hallucinated prompt-level undo,” deleting unmodified files or overlooking syntax errors.
- Repositories are left in a broken, half-compiled state.
- Orphaned background changes persist across your working tree.
agent-2pc brings database-grade Two-Phase Commit (2PC) and an append-only Write-Ahead Log (WAL) to AI agent tool pipelines.
How It Works:
- Phase 1 (Prepare & Stage): Tool side effects—such as file writes, patches, and compensating shell commands—are staged into an isolated scratch container (
.agent-tx/scratch/<tid>/). - Deterministic Verification: The agent runs test assertions and typechecks against the staged files without touching your actual working tree.
- Phase 2 (Commit or Abort):
- Success: Staged mutations are committed to your project atomically in under 2ms.
- Failure: The transaction aborts instantly, wiping scratch state and executing registered compensation commands, leaving zero dirty files.
Key Specifications:
- Latency: Sub-2ms transaction overhead, powered by Rust.
- Crash-Consistent WAL: If the agent or terminal crashes mid-execution, agent-2pc deterministically replays or cleans dirty state.
- Universal MCP Interface: Features a native stdio JSON-RPC server with 24/24 passing integration tests.
