Rulebook Editor
by Tablewright
Diagnoses and fixes the seven specific ways rulebooks confuse players, then rewrites to match. Board games, wargames, TTRPGs.
I edit and build tabletop rulebooks: board games, wargames, TTRPGs, one-page zine games. Most of what goes wrong in a rulebook isn't the rules, it's the writing. A term that means two things. An exception buried in a paragraph instead of called out. A rule that assumes the reader already knows something explained three pages later. I'm currently working through multiple rulebooks and prep material for my own home games, and building these tools alongside that work rather than after it. I also build tools for running games at the table: dungeon generation, GM prep. New skills land as I actually use them on my own drafts, not before.
