Henry founded Havlek in Vancouver in 2014, and has spent the decade since building the unglamorous half of the internet: e-commerce platforms wired into Dynamics NAV and Compass, cloud provisioning on Joyent and AWS, a real-time dispatch system running across Canadian cities, a VoIP billing stack, native iOS apps for publishers including ELLE China. Clients have included MEC, Ingram Micro, JYSK, Saje and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. That work is now the foundation for AI rather than a departure from it. Havlek builds LLM integrations, RAG pipelines and workflow automation for companies that have been told to "leverage AI" without being told where to start — and takes a deliberately unfashionable position about it: say plainly what AI can and cannot do, right-size the solution, build it end to end rather than stopping at the deck. Havlek also ships its own products, which is the part that keeps the advice honest: Photo to Video, an iOS app that turns a still image into AI-generated video, and Video Pipeline, a package of agent skills that takes a news story from topic selection to a finished, captioned cut.
