    Fix the missing-runtime problem

    This free JustHandled Labs companion installs or audits the independent open-source uBrowser MCP runtime. It does not repackage, sell, or claim authorship of the upstream browser engine.

    What it verifies

    • Node.js, package identity, package lock, compiled MCP entry, and exact pinned upstream revision
    • Playwright Chromium availability when required
    • MCP initialize and tools/list handshake with the exact 11-tool surface
    • Optional navigation to one authorized HTTPS smoke target

    Safe installation

    With explicit download permission, the helper clones the official repository, checks out one pinned revision, installs locked dependencies, and builds the server. It refuses to overwrite a non-empty destination and never silently updates an existing runtime.

    Evidence boundaries

    READY covers only the checks selected for that run. Version 1.0.0 was tested end to end on Windows 11 with Node 24, Chromium, the MCP handshake, all 11 expected tools, and example.com navigation. macOS and Linux remain unverified. The package does not guarantee percentage token savings or compatibility with every client, site, login, or workflow.

    Authorized use

    Use only sites and accounts you are authorized to access. Do not bypass authentication, CAPTCHAs, anti-bot controls, rate limits, or site terms. Persistent browser profiles can retain cookies and authenticated state and should be isolated and protected.
